My fiance had her interview in Kyiv this morning. She went yesterday to check out the area, find lockers etc.. She was unable to locate the before mentioned "locker" trailer, or pharmacy, but she spoke with one of the security personnel outside the embassy, and they were very polite and directed her to where lockers were available, and advised her not to arrive before 7:30AM, as they would not let anyone into the consulate prior to 7:45AM. Her appointment time was 8AM. Documents checked in as soon as she arrived, had to wait about 20 minutes for actual interview. Asked basic questions, such as how/where did you meet, what do your parents think of him, etc.. Interview lasted less than 5 minutes. We were told our documents were all in order, and approved! She did mention the lady who interviewed her, while not rude, was also not outwardly polite. By 8:40AM she was out of the consulate and done.

The interview was actually probably the easiest part of this whole process. My fiance did it himself; his interview was at 8AM but he was allowed inside much earlier. After the several security checkpoints, he was given a number and called up to a window to go through the paperwork. The woman looked through each document and asked if we'd met in person; he was then told to wait once more after he signed an oath. The actually interview lasted only several minutes, and he was only asked how we had met, whether his family liked me, where we were getting married, and whether we'd met online or in person. Everyone was very friendly and helpful, and the interviewer congratulated him on being approved.
Seriously, don't stress about this step. As long as you come in organized, everything should be fine. He arrived with a load of documents (3 years of tax returns, affidavits, new photos, signed letters of intent, proof of payments, medical results, military records, etc.),... read complete review

I was not present for the interview, though my fiancée said apart from being a little unsettled by an employee (Russian) of the consulate, that the actual interview was easy, only four questions were asked and the consul informed her she was approved verbally. Her actual visa was ready in a few days. I suppose we had very good guidance from our attorney, and our matchmaker.

Our interview was scheduled for 8am. We waited outside showed our confirmation that we filled out the ds 160 form then proceeded inside through a security checkpoint. Overall we waited longer than the actual interview. When we were called up to the first window they took his fingerprints and we gave our paperwork from the checklist. The second time when we were called up my fiancé was asked when and how we met, if he has been to a different country before for over 6 months and if he has ever been to the United States. We were then told that our visa was approved and it would be ready within a week. We were out of there by 8:35. Our interview was on a thursday and that following monday I received an email that we could pick up the visa. Overall it was a quick and easy process.
