Very nice people at the Kiev Embassy. Interview was painless and excited to have a positive response. I was asked ten questions almost exclusively about our relationship.

Review Topic: K1 Visa

My appointment was at 8:00 a.m. I arrived in 30 minutes before it, I did that intentionally, I wanted to find a locker for my purse and cell phone (it cost me 100UAH).
It was the easiest and the fastest part of K1 process. I just want to give you one advice - you should bring all documents listed on Embassy's web site, re-check everything 10 times. The process of entering the embassy was described here many times, it was the same for me as well.
1) You should show your appointment confirmation and passport.
2) Security check (no personal belongings, purses, cell phones and other devices).
3) Local officer will collect all docs and will check them; fingerprints; Officer will also give you a list with oath.
4) The last and the most important one - interview with CO.
The interview lasted 3 minutes. CO asked me:
- how old are you and how old is your fiancé?
- where is he from?
- how did you meet?

Than he ga... read complete review

The interview was conducted by a pleasant female consul. She asked me, how me and my fiancé met, where he was born, what he does at work, how and when he came to the USA and became a citizen of America? The consul said that everything looks good, and that I will get my Visa when my fiancé send them an updated letter with the intention to marry to the email address.she was told our letter is old, although it was 10 months old. I had an updated letter with me, made just in case, so I immediately gave it to the Consul and she wished me good luck in the States.🎉

Fiancee said appointment lasted around 30 mins. First line was a clerk that verified all information on DS-160 and organized documentation. Second was with consular official which briefly looked at photos and then just asked one question "How did you meet each other" and that was it.

Fiancee even joked if they wanted to look at all of the pictures and supporting documents we put together but they declined. Approved on the spot. Staff was friendly and professional. Easiest part of the process by far

Review Topic: K1 Visa

My fiancee's appointment was scheduled for 8:00 am.

She showed up about 20 minutes early and saw that there were quite a few individuals waiting around. Turns out she said, that lots of people were arriving way before their allotted time as some had appointments as late as 11 but were already waiting. I suppose nerves get to people causing them to be overly conservative with everything.

She said the K-1 specific visa interviewers were directed to the front of the embassy to a first window (like a ticket booth) where they each submitted their paperwork pertinent to the I-134 and DS-160 along with the other items required (Proof of ongoing relationship, medical, etc.). Everyone was given a number and told to wait till they were called (I assume in this time they review the submitted documents).

The waiting took around 15 minutes to which she was then called up.

The entirety of the interview was done informally in front of an... read complete review
