Across from a a very narrow street from embassy, several entrepreneurial Ukrainians set up some vans for storage. 100 hryvnas, some give you key, some just a token. Cell phones and all electronic devices, large bags/backpacks stay here. I left my smart watch here, out of abundance of caution. You then wait outside. Before you enter they want to see DS-160 printed receipt page and passport. Petitioners are allowed inside to accompany beneficiaries! Just show your American Passport. Inside the first building there will metal detector security check. Belts, coats, wallets, and all items out of the pocket go out on airport style conveyor. Shoes are ok to keep on. My lip balm was temporarily confiscated at this point. Small wrist wallet/purse thing are allowed in after x-ray. Then you are told to "take belt" and "put on coat" Reason they want people to hassle through the queue, and not spend too much time putting belts back on, but you need to go outside into inner courtyard, so coat is nee... read complete review

The interview was the easiest step during this process. Everything was organised well and was going fast. I was asked when and how I met my fiance; how did we communicate; how often we travel and which counties we visited; did he pay for traveling; how many times he had been in Ukraine and when last time; when and how he made proposition to get married and did I get ring. On my opinion visa officer asked these questions just because he must ask something that gives visa approval 😃. In general the interview experience wasn't so scary and nervous as I was expecting, there are very pleasant people and nice atmosphere.

Our interview was in the morning at 8AM. She said it was a bit cold inside, but the interview itself went smoothly she only asked a few questions and took about 5 minutes. javascript:emoticon('') The agent was really nice and friendly and in the end of the interview after going over everything was happy for my fiance and told her she passed and approved our visa. God is good all the time and all the time God is good :D :D :D

My fiance had her interview this morning and was verbally approved! There were 2 appointments ahead of her, which lasted about 15 minutes each. The interview was conducted at a kiosk, so she noticed that the first two were asked many questions.
On her turn they asked her 6 questions:
- How do you know each other? (we met via on-line dating site)
- Which site, exactly?
- How long have you known him?
- Where did you first meet your fiance?
- When?
- Where did the two of you travel? (we listed several trips to nearby countries in Europe)
- How long did you travel?
She didn't know the outcome of the previous 2 applicants.
