ANKARA SUCKS!! They treated My Zeki- Horribly! It was some Chinese -American chick about 10 years his jr. She asked him why he didn't like Turkish women. even implied he didn't like his own country. He almost cried. I felt horrible for him. THe lady told him that his other didn't like me at all. because she took no pictures with me. I was appalled! Have you guys ever read the Visa Customer Service Statement? Did not follow their PROMISE one bit! At the last minute she asked him when we planned to get married- (this past January 29th) and she said well hate to tell ya but you'll be changing your plans. You'll be waiting another 6-8 weeks. Which was a lie- been there twice. It looks more like 6 to 10 months. She must have ordered the full gamut of checks on him. She was having a bad day and we are suffering for it! I HATE THAT B*TCH!

El and I got there early to the embassy, waited almost 2 hours finally our number was called. The lady asked a lot of questions for a minute I didn't think I would be approved. El paced back and forth during the interview they didn't want her present while interviewing me, they were more interested in what I had to say. She drilled me with question after question I was very nervous. The interview was more difficult then we thought it would be. She didn't ask for anything that we prepared except the pictures once she saw the pictures and knew that El came to Turkey and that we were engaged in Turkey she finally started smiling and joking. After about 15 minutes she approved me. Whewww hooo!
She was strict and stern but the important thing was that we were approved. Once she saw the pictures she seemed to lighten up on me.

I was unable to be at the interview but Cetin described what occured for me.
He waited until called to the window for the interview. The young lady conducting the interview conducted most of it in Turkish for him. She asked him lots of questions and seemed to mostly be interested in making sure his answers matched the information on our forms. She was very interested in the photos and asked him lots of questions about them. She also wanted to know about how we met, what we talked about and how we came to decide to get married.
The young lady was very nice and professional. She did ask him a couple questions in English. It was all over in a matter of maybe 15 minutes or so.
And he was then directed to the UPS counter to get his visa mailed to him. Very quick and painless since we had everything very organized and ready.
A very good experience overall!

Our visa interview was scheduled for July 5 at 10:15 a.m. We arrived outside the embassy around 9:30 so's we'd have plenty of time to get through security, etc. That really wasn't necessary, however. We waited outside (in the July heat!) until about 10:20 when the security guards finally let us inside. The security process was brief...maybe 5 minutes. They checked our passports, looked inside our bags and gave us a once-over with a metal detector wand. They took Ozzy's medical exam envelope and kept his passport. They gave us a number and we were let into a large room with glass windows at one end, rows of chairs in the middle facing the windows, and a UPS desk in the back. There were lights above each window that indicated what number was being served. We just sat and waited for maybe 1/2 hour or so, listening to other people's interviews (you could hear every word!) until our number was displayed. Ozzy had chosen to have his interview in Turkish (and agonized over whether he had made... read complete review
