Fiance spent night at hotel to be there 7:30 as his appointment was scheduled for 8:00am. They took his papers, he was given a number and at 10:00am was asked to come back at 1:30pm. After he went back, he interviewed with an American CO who asked a few questions but because he asked her to repeat a question he was asked to wait and then he was interviewed by a Turkish woman who asked him over 60 questions which he answered easily. In the end he was given a 221g form for Proof of Relationship and told to send by PTT or bring it between 10am-noon. He basically had an 8 hour day there.
We were planning to send the additional proof on February 2 but then the suicide bomber...so we delayed to send it on Feb 6, and now after tracking it, the embassy didn't accept the packet, now we are waiting to receive the packet back. I will be calling embassy tomorrow to clarify - I checked visa status and it says AP but it's not marked on the form so don't know if we have to wait for ... read complete review

I was there at 7.25 am and I waited outside almost an hour. It doesn't make any difference if you go there earlier or not because they do not let you go inside until 08.30. The guys at the gate were rude. They didn't let us to wait in the line. A police guy took my passport around 8.35 am but they do not even let you ask questions! Then I needed to wait inside but still in the garden till 9.00 am. A turkish lady make me enter inside the building and asked for my documents as: criminal records (both from Turkey and Italy since I also lived in Italy before). If you lived in another country more than 6 months, be ready to bring also criminal record from that country and its official translation/approval into turkish and english even though they don't ask it when they send you the requirement list, also my birth certificates, proofs, pictures, medical test, bank receipt etc.So with the number they gave me I started waited inside. Around 9.10 a turkish lady called me to ask questions about my... read complete review

Just like other recent reviews, it was a lot of waiting compared to how short the actual interview took place. If you communicate with your fiance in English, I highly recommend you choose to take your interview in English. As far as the documents go; I would again highly recommend bringing in new police clearance (arsivli adli sicil) & birth certificate (nufus kayit), some more relationship evidence and tax returns of your fiance. (I sent them all in the Packet 3 as well.) I thought I was going over the top by bringing in a THICK folder for the interview - but I didn't regret this one bit. If anything, it boosted my confidence. I seperated my documents with too many (!) paper clips and post its though. Guess I could've spared this one, because they want them all removed and this steals from someone else's time in the line. Oops... I also had the I-129F package with me, but never needed it. I was asked "How you met, when did the relationship get serious? How did you get proposed? Did y... read complete review

The interview took about 5 minutes. The waiting took 2.5 hours. The interviewer was very nice asked a few questions, how and when we met? Why we waited 5 years to get married? Why we just decided to move after 4 years of marriage? What we do? Then she said okay have a good trip and told him to expect his passport in a few days. Don't do early there is no point as they won't let you in until after 8 and your number has nothing to do with when you get there. If you speak english do the interview in english is an advantage. Also make sure you have a new Nufus Kayıdı and police report and any new tax info for you or co-sponsor.

The consulate overall was very nice although the interview itself took quite a while, however that is to be expected. The people were friendly and nice. According to my husband, they asked just a few questions and the interview was completed.
