I would say all in all that our DFC experience was easy but a bit confusing. The American staff was much more polite than the Tunisian staff, but they always had answers to our many questions over the months of the process. The interview itself went ok, in fact they didn't ask my husband any questions, but postponed the delivery of his visa until I filed my taxes (oops on my part). Aside from that I would say the experience went well!

I am a United States Citizen. I married a Tunisian man. We done the all and now I am getting ping ponged back and forth after my husband's interview and they say it is Fraud. I am not getting any answers to why they believe this is a Fraud case.
The Consular section say they sent his case back to NVC for review with consideration of Fraud.
NVC says I need to speak with the Consular.
They are tearing at our hearts and in desperation we just want to be together. This is a Nightmare!!!

Embassy personnel was very helpful and professional during the entire processing of the K1 petition and Fiance Visa. The Interview was conducted in French and lasted 15 mns. Questions asked were the kind one expects for this type of Interview and one can read on this Board. All phone inquiries - 3 total - were either answered right during the call or followed by an email. Visa approval didn't occur the day of the Interview but four weeks later due to an Administrative Processing period. Embassy personnel took our call and reassured us at this stage. After AP, visa was granted without having to provide further information. One small observation: Packet 3 sent by Consulate indicates Visa applicants to provide proof of financial support but it turns out that no Affidavit of Support is needed for K1 Visas. All in all, we would rate the Consulate services of the American Embassy in Tunisia with the highest score.

-129F application was forwarder from Texas Service Center to Vermont Service Center.
Interview Date Rescheduled because the translation of document is missing despite the fact that the instructions sent on Packet 3 and 4 state that no translation is needed if the document are in English or the original language of the beneficiary's country.
Visa Issued.
My experience with the embasse was pretty different than all what it's said on VJMember's Review.
I come at 11am on April 03, i've submitted the translation, the police certificate and the birth certificate. and i was asked to wait.
After they finished processing all the nonimmigrant visa, the Consular officier (a woman in her 30/40)asked for me.She told me swear and than to sign the forms i have submitted.
I was very happy, and i thinked she's going to tell me to come back tomorrow to pickup the visa. but she suddenly she told me she's going to interview and she want me to talk only in english ... read complete review

I already wrote every detail in a post in the MENA area but I just wanted to say this embassy was the best. The consular was such a friendly woman who made the experience so wonderful for my husband. He did not find any problems with her, she was laughing and joking the entire time and Hamdouallah he took his visa two days after the interview was complete. They really are super nice and will answer emails very quickly or talk to you on the phone in detail if you have any problems! She's really superb at her job!!!
