Here is a quick overview of our Pkt 3/Pkt 4/Interview experience.

Pkt 3: The packet three sent to us was really 'garbage'. It was totally unorganized and the documents sent us were torn and wrinkled, like they just stuffed them in the envelope quickly. Plus, the documents they sent us to complete actually were past the expiration date...outdated! I ended up not using any of the documents from the Pkt 3. I downloaded all forms from the website. The website is actually quite good. I'm glad I was with my fiancee in Thailand when she received this, because I don't think she could have deciphered the 'mess of a package' on her own...it was that bad.

Packet 4: Much better than pkt 3! However, in the list/order of documents that it says to bring to the interview, it did not list the document required to prove that my fiancee wasn't married. I think pkt 4 has now been updated to include this. However, in our case, we did not receive the visa at the inter... read complete review

Arrived at 6:30 am for our 7:30 am interview appointment. I attended the interview with Rin. Went to window 5 at 7 am, a thai lady sorted through all of the documents that we had, gave a few back to us, had Rin write her name in Thai on one that had not been completed, then told us to take a seat. We waited until 9:30 for Rin's interview. During that time, we saw maybe 6 other fiancee or spouses go up for interviews. It was apparent that at least two did not get approved. One was a fiancee who (according to Rin as it was all in Thai) needed more proof of relationship. The other was a spouse and her husband was at the interview. It appeared that their documentation was incomplete as they had an 8:30 appointment, but only waited 30 minutes until they were called to the window, forms reviewed, and went away to collect the additional information needed.

Rin's interview was conducted in english by a gentleman that was obviously new and still training. When we got to... read complete review

This Embassy is godawful slow processing packages. We cleared Homeland Security and NVC in six months, but it took Bangkok Embassy 4 months from time they received package to interview date. Suspect that it is combination of fact that local Thai staff office procedures are inept (I used to work for a Thai engineering firm, so I know just how bad it is), and that Embassy interviews quite a few Filipinos (about 50% of interviews held there are for Filipino cases).

On interview date, went to window and checked-in. They called us back after 30 minutes, and told us "O.K., your paperwork is in order. Congratulations, pick up your visa tomorrow." Simple for us because we made sure all our paperwork was bulletproof before each step in visa process. Probably helped that we had 15 month old daughter, the staff oohed-and-aahed a low over her

We were about 30 minutes late on day to pick up visa, and they had scheduled our appointment toward ... read complete review

The interview went well, we were both nervous and did not get much sleep the night before, but it was all unneeded because we had prepared for everything the interviewer asked. They had two guys doing the interviews, the one we had seemed to be the new guy he was very buy the book. He asked me some questions first, then had me step away from the window while he interviewed my fiancee alone with an interpreter behind him. After that he had me return to the window because we had not given them our affidavit of support, which I had in my folder. He then told us the visa was approved and gave us a card to return the next day at 3PM to pick it up. The other guy seemed to do the interviews alone and let both members of the couple stay at the window during the entire interview.

I went alone for the interview. the consulate officer hardly gave me visa as 2 convictions of Robert. when I heard the word of "Pending", then i started to fight I couldn't remember all I said but the point is that I strongly insisted that we, I and Robert, have done all process by ourselves and I have known all about his convictions, also I accepted him anyway.
