My appointment was for 8 am and I arrived at the embassy at about 7.15 am, not expecting to be seen until noon or something. I submitted evidence of relationship and both passports (old and current) at Window 5 and sat down to wait. I was called to Window 6 at about 8.30 am or so, which is really, really good for the American embassy! Was asked about how we met, previous visits, and a bunch of simple things. Didn't have my birth certificate (but had my ID and house registration) and was asked to get it and give it in the next day at 1 pm. Surprisingly quick, very easy questions if you aren't lying about anything, no hassle.

An interview process took about 5 minutes. The consular officer was a man.He asked my fiance' simple questions such as How we met? How many times I went to visit her? When we are going to get marry? How old I am? He also asked my fiance' about my previous marriage,if I have any children?
My fiance' said everything went well. She arrived at embassy 6:30 am, give them all documents required and they call her around 8:00 am She also said consular officer looks mean but he said " have a nice day " to her after an interview. We have nothing to complain.. Thank you to all staff.

Noi arrived for the 8 a.m. interview at 7 a.m., but didn't actually speak to the C.O. until around 11 a.m. She waited with about 6 other Thai women in queque for K-1 visas and sort of made friends with one of the girls, as they helped each other organize paperwork.
The C.O. was a man. First, he asked her to read from one of our emails presented as "evidence of relationship". She did that, and he said her English was good (I think he was being kind, frankly, as Noi's English is not too bad). He went on to ask the usual: when/where did you meet; when/where did you live together (we did in Bkk for 2 years), etc. He also asked her to spell my (sponsor's) name: she messed up my first name out of nervousness, but quickly recovered.
He said she had a nice smile and personality. Then he said "Merry Christmas, your visa is approved!"

Anna said that everyone was friendly and nice. She said that it felt more like a conversation than that he was interviewing her. He asked a number of typical questions and she answered with very detailed responses. He remarked that her English was very good and wondered where she learned it. (She's self taught in English and German.) He was surprised to find out that she was a key account manager at a large health company. She was told to pick up the visa three days later, because two days later was a Thai holiday.
