Good experience overall. A bit confusing when fiancé receive a call (no letter) stating the interview date changed. Not sure it was an official call my fiancé appeared for the initial date and told to come back on the corrected date. javascript:emoticon('')
Returned 1 week later and the k1 visa was approved.
More confusion about when & where the k1 visa was delivered. I (the petitioner) had to inquire on the location of the packet. Turns out it went to another postal office than we where told.
Packet received. All done. javascript:emoticon('')

My wife had her appointment today at the US Embassy in Bangkok. She was unable to sleep and almost didn't make the interview due to not being able to get a taxi and bad traffic...when she finally got there (she said that the taxi driver drove like James Bond), a line was already out the door and down the road. She was informed that she didn't have the correct documentation forms for where to mail the visa...apparently the system "just" changed and we needed this form (no longer buy envelope ate counter...only half the people knew about the changes). She made a mad rush to go find a computer nearby the Embassy, found the form, filled it out and printed it...then returned to the horrendous line.
She was finally allowed entry to the embassy and waited for her interview. She was SUPER nervous being that the 5 people in front of her all were REJECTED. When it was finally time, she was asked basic questions (i.e. when was the last time you saw each other...etc.), and tha... read complete review

Communications with the US Embassy in Bangkok were terrible. Embassy staff were uncommunicative, rarely provided any helpful information on their own, and only provided important information when specifically asked.
My fiance was interviewed for 75 minutes on April 1st. She was given a 221(g) letter with instructions for submitting additional evidence of relationship. Additional documents were sent on April 9th. Repeated email inquiries to the embassy resulted in no reply and on two occasions the standard response that "your case is currently under consideration" and that "we cannot inform you how long it will take." I wrote letters to my district's congressional representative and both US senators complaining about embassy staff acting unprofessionally and treating ordinary Thai citizens disrespectfully during the interview process. Finally 3 1/2 months after my fiance's interview date, the embassy issued her a visa. They didn't even take the time to notify her that her... read complete review

I got the interview last month. I had appoinrtment at 7am.
i got interview around 9.00, everthing went well.
The consular only ask me one question that u have u met ur husband. The she said I will issue u visa. By the way, i brought lots of relationship docs and that made the consular smile when she saw my document. I asked additional question that why u requested my house resteration book, she said we woulike to check ur identity. The reason I asked because under pack 3 and pack 4, no information provided that I should bring the house registration book.
