Hello,
today our fiance visa was approved with no issues. The wait has been long but each process step went with no hick ups (Thank you VJ for showing how to file in the proper way). Even though I had filed the paperwork to be informed via E-mail I never received updates when each process step was completed. I had to send them e-mails after the dates recommended by VJ, and each time I was informed that my application had been approved and sent to the next instance.
The interview process went very smooth. The entire visit took 2 hours but most of the time was waiting for your turn. Once it was our turn the officer only asked questions about my fiance. After being satisfied with the answers, he stated that the visa would be mailed with the passport within two weeks.
It feels great at the moment!!!
Looking forward for her to come over so we can start the next steps in our life.
Best Regards
Jonny Eser

So why did we go Laos with a Thai citizen? Initial thought was my fiancee's mother lived near and the Laos Embassy would likely be so much more calm and personable. I went with her and Overall... it worked out very well being able to see her mother and the Embassy in Laos was so better at answering emails than the Thai US embassy. Probably the negatives about going to Laos were Laos itself and the cost, as it was a bit more money for travel and me crossing the border ($35 x 2 trips) but not that bad. We did her medical in Vientiane 2 days before interview which went well but almost $300 and took 3 hours. I like Thailand much better than Laos although Laos does have some good bread.
The Interview: The apt. was at 8 , we got there at 7:40 and they let her in at 7:50. HER! they did not let me in the building and in fact kicked me off the property to be relegated to a shack shop across the street with crazy strong Laos coffee. Hotter than the surface of the sun it was tha... read complete review

I arrived in Bangkok on June 4th to go to the Embassy to support my fiancée. June 5th, we went to the hospital and got her medical completed. (Just fyi, if you're short on visa photos, the business center is on the 10th floor and you get 8 photos for 200 baht.)
June 6th, her interview time was at 11:30am. We arrived early and she went in about 10:45am and came out at 12:15pm with a 221(g). I had a non-traffic situation from last year and the interviewer asked her if she was aware of it and if it was OK? She said she didn't know anything about it and the interviewer gave her the 221(g) with instructions to talk with me and send them an email of the result. Then they would reschedule for the 2nd interview.
We had met in a coffee shop in Chiang Rai and he asked her if she liked coffee. Asked about our age difference and what was my job. He went through the 3 ring binder of proof of relationship documents and that was it.
When I read the infor... read complete review
