My K1 interview was scheduled at 830am. I got to the embassy at 745 and was first in the immigrant line. At 8 they let me in, there was a security check, and then I was guided to a waitroom. Almost immediately I was called up to a window to provide required documents. Then I was told to sit and wait for my name to be called again to have my interview. About 20 min later they called my name and I was asked general questions about me and my fiances relationship. They had not received the results from my medical examination yet (appointments were limited and I had mine one and a half weeks before my interview, they say it usually takes around two weeks for the embassy to recieve them). Everything else was fine, so they told me that as soon as they received the medical results (and if they looked ok) they would issue my visa and send it to me. I got a document stating this as well. Emailed the Swedish embassy a few times, and received responses quickly within 2-3 days.

A quick and pleasant experience! Arrived at 7:15 am for my 8 am interview. I ended up waiting in the wrong line (K1 applicants stands in the line directly in front of the embassy, not that one inside the glass building). Security was quick and easy and I was the first one to be let in the embassy. After a few minutes of waiting I was called up to window 7 to hand over my documents. The woman asked for the tax returns receipts and I presented her with the W2’s which was wrong. She gave me a number and told me to sit down until my number was called. While waiting I read the IMBRA- document which was provided to me. After maybe ten minutes of waiting I was called up to another window for my interview. I was surprised that it wasn’t in a separate room. The man interviewing was very friendly and only asked a few questions such as “When did you last see him?†and “How did you meet?â€.
