Review Topic: K3 Visa

Only thing bad was the small signs that said where to stand in line in front of the entrance. I stood in the wrong line for about 20 minutes

Once I figured that out I got to pass the ENTIRE LINE!

Inside evrything went very fast and very smooth!
I am super happy!

Review Topic: K1 Visa

The interview for my K1 visa in Stockholm.

I was appointed for interview on January 30 at 8:30 AM, but I couldn't wait longer, so I was there at 7:38 AM was the 3th person lining.
At 8:00 AM they began calling us one by one, all went smooth, as soon as I arrived in the hall, I was told to go to a specific window, there I gave my documents as the officer (very nice, kind and in a good mood) was asking, one by one. She was satisfy that all documents were there just as she asked.
She asked me how I met my fiance, I so naturally began telling her about our love story, ooooh my, suddenly we both were weeping, then laughing for the happy ending.
Minutes later, I was called to another window where I was going to be interviewed by another officer (a young man). He began with noticing I travel often to different countries, have double citizenship and speak couple of languages he also speak, he told me he heard my love stor... read complete review

Review Topic: K1 Visa

Dec 17th 2007, early morning and a LONG line to get in. It's freezing cold and I'm dressed way too much like a Southern Cal girl. Brrr. After 50 min in line and definitely no toes and barely any fingers left worth using for anything I'm let in. Luckily no line for the Immigration Visas and I can walk by the crowd of people jamming the door in to the warmth of the Embassy. After 5 min of trying to get the staff's attention someone opens a window and my interview is ON. Nice, Swedish speaking woman, asks only one question before I'm told I need a fingerprint check due to some earlier immigrations problems (which I guess means that I have my own FBI profile ) $90 later and 30 min waiting I'm called to a window to take my finger prints. The man (American macho type) does the "tough American guy trying to fram innocent Swedish woman", with some not so nice questions before he explains that there should be no problems with my visa but that it will take a couple of days ... read complete review

Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

2007-12-11 The automated NVC phone said my case had been completed and sent to the embassy. I called the NVC, and a person informed me that my interview was on Jan 2nd.

2007-12-17 The appointment letter from the embassy arrived, confirming the time for the interview.

2007-12-27 I did the medical exam (roughly 380 USD). The doctor assured me that he would send the papers to the embassy so they would have it within a week. The appointment letter gave two options for "certified" doctors who could perform the examination in stockholm, I chose the one who got back to me the fastest and was able to schedule an appointment.

2008-01-02 The consulate interview - I had to sign the DS-230 part 2 in front of the consular, as well as hand over a missing tax form of my wife, that was requested. All other documents had already been processed by the NVC. The consular and he informed me that the only thing pending was my medical exam, that had not yet arrive... read complete review

Arrived right on time and stood in the immigrant visa/US Citizen line (way shorter than the other line). Once inside, I walked up to the designated window and processing began immediately. The consular officer was very friendly, and only asked a few questions (has your fiancee been married before, when do you plan to get married, has she been to Sweden). I was then told to wait a while, and some 15 minutes passed before I was called to a second window. There I signed a document stating my intent to get married within 90 days and was told I would have the visa and passport in a few days. Even though they mailed it the next day (Dec 21), it took a week since there was no regular mail delivery from Dec 22-26! That was kinda nerve-wracking for totally irrational reasons. All in all though, super smooth!
