I arrived at the embassy 15 minutes early at 8:45. I had read about people waiting in line outside the embassy so I stood at the sign saying "line up here" for a minute reading the instructions on it. Then I remembered the appointment letter said to check in with the guard station.
The guard asked for my passport and checked that I was on the list. I then went through airport like security. I had to leave my phone and all other electronic devices at the guard house.
Inside the Embassy I first talked to a Swedish woman who checked that I had all the documents they had asked me to bring. After giving her all the documents I had to go to a different window to pay the $404 fee and then come back to give her some of the receipts (You get one to keep too)
I was then instructed to sit down and wait to be called. After about 20 minutes I was called to a different window to be interviewed. I was surprised that the consular officer interviewed me in Swedish! I think I would ... read complete review

This journey has been short, and very easy.
The people at the embassy in Stockholm is very helpful, which made my process very enjoyable.
I filed the i-130 about 2 months ago, and now I have my VISA in hand, it could have taken a lot less time but that all depended on me not sending in all my documents right away.

I am thoroughly impressed with the staff at the US Embassy in Stockholm. Everyone we have encountered during our three visits--from case workers to security, and the consul herself--have been calm, friendly and service-minded.

So easy I got worked up for nothing.
Got there at 7.30 and stood in line outside(brr so cold) after passing through security I was told to go visit letter G as in Gas the guard told me, I took a number and waited until it was my turn and at that time I realized I didn't need it. The man behind the counter was really nice and joked around.
When I went up to letter G I talked with a Swedish woman and gave her my paperwork which they asked for in the appointment letter. Then I went and sat down again. Once they called my name another woman talked to me and asked how my husband and I met and for how long he studied here. Then there was a little misunderstanding about the AOS but I gave her a letter that fixed it all. Phew, no joint sponsor needed. After that she told me about my POE and the brown envelope and that I was good to go! :D
I was there for two hours but all the talking summed up to 10 min so most of it was waiting, the place was CRAMPED!
