My experience at the US Embassy in Stockholm for the CR1 visa interview was overall smooth and hassle-free. To start, I highly recommend staying at Biz Apartments, which is conveniently located just a 15-minute walk from the Embassy. This proximity made it easy for me to reach the Embassy on time and avoid any unnecessary stress. Additionally, when organizing your documents, I found it helpful to use paperclips to keep related documents together. Initially, I was unsure about this, but it turned out to be a practical solution.
Upon arriving at the Embassy, I was greeted by a friendly and professional staff. The entire process took approximately two hours, but the actual interview itself lasted only 10 to 15 minutes. One important update is that you are now allowed to bring your phone with you. Unfortunately, I left mine behind, which made the wait a bit boring. So, make sure you have your phone handy for entertainment during the waiting period.

Interview approved,
took 3h total of waiting time and interview. 1 h line outside the embassy, 2 h inside. A lot of questions; how did you first meet, how often do you see each other, have you ever got denied a visa/US entry before, when did you get engaged, were are you going to live, where does your fiance live, what does your American fiance work with, what do you intend to do when you get to the US, etc etc. Fingerprints taken and papers handed in, and showed original documents.
Positives: Nice staff, friendly, helpful.
Negatives: waiting time, and very crowded waiting room. Also mixed for all types of visa questions, and the student and work visas were interviewed right Infront of the other people sitting waiting. So no privacy when answering, everyone could hear and also hear of they got approved or not. The K- visas was in a private booth next to it though

Had a generally good experience, and not all too different from when I applied for F-1 student visa at this same embassy many years ago. Many fewer people now, however, after covid measures were enacted. The waiting room was practically empty – two applicants for immigrant visas before me, and only 1-2 people for non-immigrant visas. Still a fairly long wait for me as they only had one window for processing of documents for immigrants. Waited around 30-40 minutes after my 8:35 arrival for this. After that, they also only had one booth for the interviews, so that was another 1-1.5 hour wait. In the end, I was done at 10:50, so about 2 hours and 15 minutes total.
The interview itself was rather straightforward. They asked about my future employer, the position offered, my experience/education (all degrees, even though I had gotten a master's degree after applying that wasn't relevant). They didn't approve me on the spot as my medical exam was not done yet (lack of a... read complete review

Overall good experience. I received a time very quickly once my case was at the embassy. They asked me basic questions during the interview and from entering to being done, it took about an hour. A lot of waiting in the room and maybe only a 5 min interview. What will I be doing in the US and what I would like to work with.
