Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

I arrived early to my 8.30 appointment. I stood in line (in my line it was only me, in the other line for non-immigrants there where maybe 10 ppl) Waited for 5-10 minutes until they let me through the security check. headed to window G where I only had to give my printed cover from the adress sheet. and then all the evidence for our marriage. I had a lot of photos plus chat conversations skype logs. rental lease agreement, joint bank statement. Everything nicely put in organized folders. I didn't have to hand over any of the other paperwork like affidavit of support or civil documents cuz my originals where already sent to the NVC. I then had to wait for 5 minutes until I got called up again for the interview. It was a ung lady who did it. first swear the oath. then she asked me maybe a total of 7 questions. When I met my wife for the first time. how the relationship developed. when our marriage was then she said, your visa is approved. I was out from the embassy at 8.45. super quick a... read complete review

It all went very smooth, me and my daughter got there just before 8 and we were the first in immigration line.
A security guard called us up for the security check and we had to show our passports and take our jackets off and show the our soles of our boots.
After that we could go in and go through the scan and they pointed us up to the entrance and to window G.
We went straight to the window and a gentlemen talked to us in Swedish asked for our documents such as
passport and and our passport photographs
ds-160,
affidavits of support,
"personbevis 120 of all relationships", including proof of sole custody witch is stated in the personbevis,
payment confirmation and some evidence. He asked how many times i have been to the states and what kind of visa i had used before, how often we kept in touch and i told him we talk several times a day on the phone and over skype.
I had a lot of ongoing evidence with me, like all our... read complete review

There was no line when I came at 08.00 am. I was 30 min early and I knew what I was expecting as I've been there in the past, however that was six years ago.
I stood in line for immigrant visas like everyone say we K1's should and I guess that's right. The officer came outside to ask: What visa are you here for? I said K1, He was like: What's that? haha. I had to elaborate and say fiancé visa. He then called me to the front. Asked for my passport and a "security check" before I was let inside, - lift your shoes so I can see them from the back. Then the real security check, got a card for my electronics as I had to leave my phone etc. Good vide. Everyone was friendly. It went fast. only 20 min wait. Good experience"!

Got there at 8 am and no line for immigrant visa. Had 2 interviews, one for my k1 visa and one for our daughters report of birth and US passport. Except the 3 hour wait it went smooth when it was my turn. They asked a few question how we met, how often I been visiting him and about our baby. Got RFE, wanted more proof of ongoing relationship, had no new pics because we haven't seen each other during this visa process but gave them skype call history and Facebook chats between him and me and with his family, and we are engaged and have a baby! But wasn't enough. And needed a original and not a copy of his divorce decree. Overall pretty smooth and not to complicated

In all, a nice experience, and friendly and helpful staff.

Easy to get there; once you find the right bus stop hidden outside Stockholm's central train station, the bus stops right outside the embassy. (It's not one of the quaint little Victorian brick houses with colorful flags outside, but rather the big concrete building across the street; the one with the barbed wire fence, cameras and armed guards.

The interview was quick and painless. They didn't actually ask me anything about our past relationship - I had our son with me, consular report of birth and all, and that was viewed as a pretty solid proof of relationship. Some questions about how and where we were planning to live, etc.

Somehow my affidavit of support had disappeared from the file, but they were OK with me submitting it by mail later. (It wasn't at home either - my fiance ended up having to fill out assemble one and mail it from the US.)
