Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

Very quick and professional. Total time spend at the Embassy was around 1.5 hours. I was only asked a few questions related to our marriage and my future plans in the US:

-Where did you meet?
-Where will you work in the United States?
-Who is your joint sponsor?

CO: "Your visa is approved. You receive your passport back in 7-10 business days."

Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

The visa entry line is at the southmost on Calle Serrano.

They let both the beneficiary and the US citizen petitioner (me) into the waiting room. We were inside the embassy for a little less than 2 hours. The initial processing consisted of a bag x-ray and metal detector. All electronic devices such as cellphones and ear buds were collected and stored at the guard station. It was possible to bring small carry bags and a water bottle inside. A second initial processing step involved preparing an envelope for the return of the passport - the Embassy supplied envelopes - and taking a number for the appropriate processing line.

There were three lines, one for nonimmigrant visas, one for immigrant visa, and one for US citizen services. The visa interviews happened at small windows in front of everyone in the waiting room. The waiting area has a small play area for children. There was one US citizen family and one immigrant visa family with children wait... read complete review

Review Topic: General Review

My appointment was at 11:30 am, so I arrived 15 minutes early. I walked in without any issues and everyone was very nice and helpful. The only issue was that I couldn't go inside with my backpack, so I had to find a locker nearby to keep it during my appointment. The whole process took around an hour and a half including going through security, taking a number, giving all required documents, and waiting to be called. The actual interview process took around 5-10 minutes including an oath to tell the truth plus a few questions. At the end, the interviewer told me that it would take 1-2 weeks to process the visa.
1) How did you meet? Describe your love story.
2) Have you met the future in-laws? Do you get along with them?
3) When did we leave Germany? (this is where we met)
4) Where in the US will you guys be living?
5) What type of work will you expect to have in the US?
Overall it was a very positive experience - the only downside was the waiti... read complete review

Very simple and stress free experience. Took about 3 minutes - asked just a few simple questions. Officer mentioned we were approved and will receive the visa in 7-10 days.

Review Topic: K1 Visa

Arrived to the embassy about 5 minutes early and was able to enter inside with no problem. Seemed to be about 10 total interviewed at our same hour. We were there for a total of 1 hour and 15 minutes. They gave us a number at arrival and then we waited to be called. First woman reviewed that we had turned in all documents from Packet 3 and asked for beneficiaries' medical exam. They returned the package to us after looking inside with a new seal on top and said not to open it. We then waited a bit more for the interview. Agent asked to speak with the beneficiary only - he asked my fiance how we met and how long he had been living in Madrid. He then called me to the window and asked where we were moving to and what I did for a living. He then told us we were approved and would receive the visa in 1-2 weeks!

Super chill, super nice and relaxed -- Only note is the embassy felt a bit different, I guess because they are still closed to the public? I'd been before for other p... read complete review
