Basically we were over prepared. That is a good thing. The forms the embassy sent looked pretty old. We brought translations of documents that were in Spanish. Their documentation told us to. When we presented them they said "Oh, our forms are very old." They also forgot to send or ask for for DS230 - pt2. The interview was short - kind of. After it was over my fiance left and was at the train station when she got a phone call from the embassy. They had forgotten to have her sign a doc and she had to return. She went back but they would not let her bring in her computer - security reasons. She ended up walking down the street and finding a library that would hold it for her. The end result was great but the process seemed a bit loose.

His interview was today at 9am. He was already out by 11am. He said that everything went very smooth and they asked him only where we met and how long we have known each other. Then they just congratulated him and let him know that his visa will come within 10 days. All the stress is finally over!!!

Friendly, asked where we met, when we decided to get married and what my plans were for when I entered the US ("Apply for an Adjustment of Status, Sir!"). Then approved the visa, and allowed me to return in person the following week to collect it (not usually done). Fast, efficient, courteous.

My fiance had an excellent experience at the Madrid Embassy. Although the entire process took 3 hours, it was far smoother and less stressful than we anticipated. My fiance's visa was approved that day, and he received it in the mail two days following.
