South Africa US Consulate is not a tough embassy to go through... Its not worth stressing on, if you are real and just go into the interview and be real; it will feel like a conversation throughout!

My visa was approved but it didn't go as smoothly as I expected.
In the end she said, "well I think I have everything, if everything is fine you will have your visa in 2 weeks".. I replied with Does that mean its approved and she said yes. So all in all I think I have nothing to worry about and maybe I was expecting to much emotion form her, but it didn't give me any reassurance...am I worrying about nothing here?
Before I tell you how it went, some history, I worked in New Orleans for 2 years on a J1 visa and then changed my visa to a B2 tourist visa, this was approved and I spent another 5 months there travelling with my fiance.
I came back in June last year as per my visa date.
yesterday, I arrived really early which was probably silly but I couldn't sit in the car any longer. Honestly it didn't get me further in the queue because there were 1pm interviews before me. In the end we were all lumped together regardless of y... read complete review

My K-1 visa appointment was scheduled for Tuesday, March 27th, 2018, at 13:30.
Following information from previous reviews on this site, I first went to Doppio Zero in Sandton City Mall and dropped off a big bag containing my laptop, asking for it to be returned to me when I came back. This was easy to do and the staff were very friendly. Then I went to the consular section, arriving at 12:40, because I had heard that they only open at 1pm, and that I should be near the front of the queue. There is only shade for about 6 people to wait; the rest will be waiting in the sun.

I just picked up my passport and visa. It has been quite a journey to get this far and I'm writing this because I am so grateful but also because I didn't find any information regarding employment based immigrant visas for the Johannesburg consulate.
My appointment was set for 16th April at 1pm. My advise is to get there early! You will have to sit outside and wait but if you go early: 1) you will be able to grab a bench to sit, 2) you will be one of the first ones to be interviewed. I was there at Noon and no one was there. By 1pm there was a decent amount of people, most were for non immigrant visas.
I ended up being the 2nd inline for the interview. At first they call you to the counter to collect all the documents. You have to go and sit back down and wait for them to call you up for the interview. After waiting for about 10mins they called me up to a different counter and I was interviewed by a young American lady. I was pretty nervous but it was actu... read complete review

I arrived at Sandton City a bit early, my appointment ws only at 13:00 the afternoon. Took a chance and went to the security at the consulate at around 12:00 but was told to come back at 12:45. Went for a coffee in the mall and returned at 12:45. I was one of only 5 K1 visa applicants. Started chatting to the other Saffas, 2 girls and another guy. (Sorry I am really bad at remembering names, one girl was from Port Elizabeth moving to NYC, another from Evander moving to Texas I believe and the guy from Pretoria going to Fort Lauderdale. There was another gentleman there too, but did not get the chance to talk to him.
1 - Checked us in on a tablet at the security gate, phones off and then you enter the security building.
2 - Went into the 2nd building and was checked in again, they check your passport, give you instructions on the DHL delivery and give you a number. Then you sit and wait. There consulate was really quite. We were basically the only ones there.... read complete review
