Communication with this consulate prior to my visa interview was very easy, they answered all my additional questions and addressed my concerns. The day of my interview I got there around 20 minutes before the scheduled time, and they let me in right away, before people who were waiting for other non-immigrant visas. I waited maybe 2 hours, and was called on a couple of times, first to just give my passport and photo, and I was asked about my two year rule that I had from my J1 visa. They calculated if I spent enough time in my home country, and then collected the rest of the documents I had. I was also interviewed by one of the American employees who asked me how I met my fiance, where, if he's met my parents, if I've met his, how we keep in touch etc. At no point was I asked to provide additional relationship proof. He then told me that he will recommend to his colleague that my visa be approved, after which I was informed that my passport will be delivered via DHL from Belgrade to M... read complete review

The experience was good.Took me a little bit over two hours to finish everything at the consulate. The consular officer was professional which I can't say for her assistant.

Fiance said that his interview was quick and painless. There was a lot of "come to this window, go sit, come to this window" etc. Everyone he spoke to was very kind. They asked him simple questions; how did you meet, what does your fiance do for work, when did you propose, has she ever been here. He went in at 9 am and was out and approved by 10:30. We gave them pictures, chat and skype logs, pages of a scrapbook I made for him, and just the affidavit of support, no request for stubs, employer letter, or anything else. Great experience overall!

We followed all instructions that we found on this site, and everything went as smooth as it can go. We thought we'd wait much longer to get the interview date, but it happened relatively soon! I went to the embassy with my mom, she wasn't allowed in with me. Before entering the security checked my things and once inside everyone was very polite, smiling and nice. They did let me know I will stay to wait up to 3 hours, and thats how it was. First they asked for my documents, then I proceeded to pay visa fee and then I had an interview with consulate worker. The consulate lady was very nice and interview itself lasted few minutes where I got to explain our case. Finally she said "We would like to inform you that your visa has been approved, good luck in your life with your fiance" and I couldn't help but cry in front of her! Overall, it was stressful, but stress was definitely down when faced with such polite and warm receptionists and workers at the embassy. The only thing I can say ne... read complete review
