My husband arrived at 7:00 A.M. He was told that his passport photos were not the correct size and had to purchase another set. He returned to the U.S. Embassy at 8:00 A.M. and was granted entry.
He was called to the first window and asked to submit original documents. He was called to the second window for fingerprints. Finally, he was called to window #7 for his interview. (He said that he waited a little over an hour to be called to each window.) He was asked the following questions:
1. Who's the petitioner?
2. How long have you known your wife?
3. How did you meet?
4. Where does your wife work?
5. What is her occupation?
6. How long did you live together?
7. Why did your wife return to the USA?
8. Why didn't she return to Senegal?
9. How do we communicate?
It was just that simple!

On interview day we went early and found atleast 10 people ahead of us in the line. After some time we were screned and eneterd the consuklate slowly. the sick elderly and children were allowed in first. We got a number and when it was called we were asked to submit our ducuments. the lady at the window was 50% nice to us. But there was some language barrier as Senegal is French speaking.
After that we were asked to sit and wait for our names to be called. Again we went to pay the aplication fee. However, the official exchange rate the embassy used was higher than the prevailing market rate. so we were short of the amount. But as always, i came along with more money than the fee.
Ater paying, we waited for about 30 minutes. we were called for interview. The officer was very professional. She asked my fiancee a lot of questions while i stood. All was perfect. She never spoke to me throughout the interview process. I just stood there but it provided comfort ... read complete review

I wasn't able to attend my fiance's interview, but he described as fairly easy. He was told to arrive at 7am, and arrived a bit earlier than that, and he waited for hours. Then he paid his fee and waited some more. When he was actually called for his interview, he presented the necessary paperwork, explained when, where and how we met, how we began dating, how many times I'd come to visit. He was asked to show pictures and more proof of our relationship, which he did (the two of us prepared a comprehensive binder). And that was that! They told him to come back next week to get his passport! WHOOOO!
