long wait outside consulate in a very cold Moscow morning, but bearable. once inside slight hiccup as fiancé brought her thumb drive, and it needed to be disposed of, took it back outside and put on fence with other un-allowed items. once through security with cells handed over, we had some small trouble finding correct waiting area. asked clerk at open window, was told we were in right place. after some 3/4 hour, fiancé was called to window to produce paperwork, all was in order, thanks to VJ and google examples. about 15 minutes later fiancé was called into interview, I went too. fiancé was very nervous and shaking, but interview was quite short, about 10 minutes, and pleasant. after picking up cells and exiting building, I was able to go around side of consulate and pick up my fiancé's offending thumb drive, it had been knocked off of fence rail onto snow, other people had been putting up their un-allowed objects also.

I've had my interview today and it was a very pleasant experience overall. Everyone was very helpful and nice. No stress at all.
The consul was a very nice young lady. The whole thing took like 5 minutes (after an hour of waiting for the interview). Questions were fairly basic: how we met, where i would live in the US, what my husband does for his job, what i do, have we had any vacations together, if he speaks any Russian and such.
My interview was scheduled for 8 am, i was out of there at 9:10.

This review is second-hand from my fiance. We were approved for the K-1 visa. He was at the embassy in Moscow for a total of 2 hours. Definitely do not bring any electronics outside of your phone. You will have to check that with security and pick it up when you leave. He said the woman who interviewed him was very nice, and very polite. The tone of the interview was a little informal. She asked him a few questions:
* Where does your fiance live?
* What do you call your fiance? (pet names / nick names)
* How did you and your fiance meet?
* Has your fiance visited Russia?
The interview didn't last for more than 10 minutes, and then the interviewer said that he was approved. She said his visa should be mailed to him within a week.

We arrived to the Embassy at 9am. There were about three people ahead of us in the line outside and about five people behind us. The guard asked for all passports of those entering. He went into the guard station and came out a few minutes later. He opened the little gate and passed the passports back to the rightful owner while they walked through. We walked down a little side-walk til we came to the entrance (side of building. When we got inside, there was a super long line. But the good thing was that is was MOVING. When you first walk in, they check your passports and you bags and then you get in line. I didn't bring my purse. I had a few things in my jacket pocket and that's it. I highly suggest you leave everything in a "cloak room" in the metro station or in your hotel room if you have no "check out". It's faster and easier and your won't get snet back outside if you do not bring more than your documents and a few small items you can fit in yoru pockets. Do not bring e... read complete review
