Dec 7th, I arrived in Moscow and met my daughter. We then found our hotel. We then went to find the embassy. Later that day, we met with a friend who was having her interview on the same day.

December 8th, I arrived at about 7:20 at the embassy. I met my friend and there was already a line. We went through the security checks and went on our hall for the interview.

I could see the consular going through my papers. I told my friend that I was certain that she was looking at my documents. Soon after, my name was called. I was very nervous! The consular was very professional, nice and did what she could to calm me down. She asked questions the following questions:

1. What is his name?
2. Where and when did you meet?
3. How did you communicate?
4. How often do you talk?
5. How many children does he have?
6. How old are they?
7. Who do they live with?
8. How often does h... read complete review

L had an extremely long wait at the embassy - my reason for the 3 star review. There were three other ladies waiting for the fiance interview. But two families in front of her were adopting children, which caused the long wait! Two of the ladies waiting for the fiance visa were approved, while one was told that her police certificate is not proper and needs to be resent to the embassy. She waited for approximately 3.5 hours for her interview - remember no food or water. By the time her turn came, she was exhausted, but did a great job! Consule offered to speak in Russian, which they did for a while, until L switched to English.
He was fairly friendly, and even apologized for the long wait. Questions asked:
- How did you and fiance meet
- How do you communicate
- Where did you travel to see each other?
- Where does he work? Where did you work when you were in the US on the J-1 visa?
- Basic info about the petitioner - when di... read complete review

Went to the embassy half an hour before the interview at 08:00 am. Had all my documents in one big folder + medical exam envelope. Before they rook all my documents and medical results. Consul (it was a nice young brunet) asked what's the name of the petitioner, and who is he to me (I said he's my future husband if I'll get that visa). When she asked where did we met first time and second time. Do my parents know his parents and if they like each other. All interview took about 2 minutes when she said that my documents are in order and I'll get visa in 7 days. We're happy and excited.

Larisa was nervous before the interview. She arrived early and the officer reviewed the documents that I sent to them directly. She said the never took the ones she had in hand because my stack was 3" to 4" thick. I had sent them enough to use. First question was what does she call me by name, she gave my full name. Second question was how did we meet and he notice that I had been to Russia twice. 3rd question was how did my late wife died and when this happen, she said female cancer in 2009. 4th question was where I work and she told him I drive three trailers with big truck. He commented I was a unique and safe driver. She explained that she was learning English and I was learning more Russian. He concluded with have a happy life in the USA with Bobbie after telling her she was approved she cried a little in happiness. Her experience was a good one. She was told she should have her visa in 2 days. This means I can bring her here next week. Yeah!!

full review later but here is key points:

only 3 interviewees today.
Sasha took her interview at 8 am and was approved by 10.30am.
She was asked if she want to interview in Russian and replied
in English and did the interview entirely in English.

Lots of questions regarding pictures and meeting in laws etc.
all went well - no complications.
Male consular officer - very respectful, very fair, very business like
and thanked her for her depth of documentation and her wished her well for her new life.

all 3 ladies there today got approved !
