The consul, a woman, was terrible, trying to scare my fiancee and making false statements, only speaking in English. At the end, she did not even look at any of the information Elena brought to the interview that proves our relationship, but the consul focused on changing words in sentenses and repeating them differently trying to make Elena say something that was not true. No visa was issued - reason needs more investigation. I am super pissed.

The interview went very well except the officer asked about a medical issue that was two years old and no longer a problem. He asked Elena if she told me about the problem her answer was "Yes". The consular officer wanted a letter from me stating that I was aware of the condition(no longer anything), that I understood the US govt was not going to pay for treatment if the problem reoccurred, and that I understood my insurance would not cover it either. Elena had to have another medical exam at home and send the results to Moscow before they would complete the visa.
I sent the letter as soon as I heard even though there is no information on the application or the paperwork that states what kind of medical insurance I have. I checked with my insurance company and there is no preexisting condition clause for my insurance so they would cover it. I was not happy and called the embassy and talked to the supervisor for the consular officers and explained that they should not speak o... read complete review

My lady had her interview on the 26th of December, 2006. This is what she told me of her interview.
"There were 10 people total for visas of fiancée and wife (8 women and 2 guys). The officer called me last and asked to me a lot of questions, (at least more than to everybody else). Where did you meet your fiancé? When? How many times did he visit you? How often do you talk with each other? Where is your son? Why is he not with you? What is your son thinking of Mark? Where is your engagement ring? Why don't you have it? Did you talk with his family? How many children does your fiancé have? Did you talk with them? Where are your joint photos? Show me?
In the end he said, "You will get your visa in a week." Then I said, "I'd such like to fly to my fiancé in time for the New Year." and he answered, "they will send your visa as soon as possible.""

Generally the officers were very nice. My fiancee mentioned one was not very nice and demanded interviews in English. Fortunately for her she did not get that officer.

Asked 4 questions to determine valid relationship.
When meet, when seen each other last, how often talk on phone.

Generally very nice, professional and quick interview.

Three officers conducted interviews (one man and two women).

Anna said that the gentleman who conducted interviews was very friendly and polite to all. Always smiling and would come out from behind the interview window every now and then to stop and say hello to the fiancées as they waited and would offer them encouragement.

Anna was interviewed by one of the women whom Anna described as very serious and business like, but still very polite.

Anna’s interview lasted less than 10 minutes and was conducted in English. She was asked only one question: Tell me some general things about your fiancé. Anna said she spoke for approximately 5 minutes about where I was born, my family, where I live and work, qualities she loves most about me, etc. The woman then told her congratulations.

Anna said the only thing they took as evidence of our relationship was one picture and never looked at or asked for anything else.
