The interview and document review went very well. Our appt was at 1 p.m. and by 3 p.m. we had approval. The problem was a computer issue with my son's visa, she couldn't get the visa's the same day and had to return the next day. She got both the next day, but that night between was a nightmare. She thought for sure something was wrong with our documents. I called the embassy the morning after her interview to find out what was wrong and they were very helpful and polite. She arrived at the embassy at 9:30 am the next day and by 10:30 she was calling me telling me she had both visa's.

Here is the experience I had with my interview in Bucharest on November 7th. First I want you to know that everything went well and, as long as you have all the papers you need, there is nothing you should worry about.
I had the medical exam a day before the interview (I'm not from Bucharest)at Unirea medical center which is very close to the Embassy on Batistei Street, in a tall building, on the left on your way to the Embassy from Intercontinental Hotel. They give you the results the same day so I could have everything with me for the interview next day.
I got at the Embassy at 1pm and waited in a line till there came a guardian with a list and called some names. Unfortunatelly, mine was not on the list so I needed to go to the main gate and ask another guardian about this. He told me there was a mistake, that I was actually on the list and asked me to get inside (there were 4 other people in the same situation) I got through the security check, they asked me to leave... read complete review

Just wanted to let everyone know how nice everyone was at the embassy. MY husband had his interview on 10/26/2006 at 1 pm. We got there about 12:30 and the solider outside told us we had to wait until 12:50 thats when they would let everyone in. We went in handed over all of our documents at 1pm and was told to wait til we get called for the interview. The entire process was complete by 3:50.

I will do my best to describe the interview process that my fiancee went through at the US Embassy in Romania.
Her interview was scheduled for 1300. When she arrived at the Embassy, she was directed to a romanian lady at a window to give her completed package 3. (ds-156, ds-156k, i-134)
After she gave her completed paper work, the wait began... About 2 hours worth of waiting..
So finally she was called to start the interview. The interview was given by a female white american. My fiancee said the lady was very pleasant, and smiled alot.
The questions asked during the interview were not unusual. Despite what I thought, the interviewer asked nothing about our plans to marry.. What did surprise me was when she asked my fiancee "how long do you plan to stay", my fiancee answered "well, i plan to live there always with him" I guess the interviewer was trying to find out indirectly if this was just a 'fun-pass' for her..
The intervi... read complete review

Embassy was being renovated so interview was taken out in a tent. Consulates were mean, impatient, and rude. Told 2 times not getting the visa, then on last visit to window after paying the fee, was given visa. I think they were all in bad moods that day, and felt the need to play with people a bit. Either way, in USA now with wife and kids, so I dont care.
Full interview process took 4 hours, actual interview almost 10 minutes.
