After sending in the docs to the Consulate on a Monday, I called in for the interview on Friday. They asked me to pick a day from the following week. I was very much surprised, cause I knew it takes around one week to 10 days to set the interview day, but I figured something had changed. So I said Thursday, as I was not prepared at all for such a soon interview (Monday night, just after sending in my packet to the consulate, my father died).
So there I was, myself and my 3 year old daugther, Thursday at 1 p.m.
It was a torrid day. Around 1,10 an officer came out and started to read a list, and we were not on that list. I told him we were also scheduled for that day and after 5 minutes he came back and told us to come also. They let us in first, as I was the only one with a child. But this is where the "favours" ended.

It was a pretty standard interview. The lady asked about 12 questions. Pretty standard stuff. She did ask how long she would be staying. Forever of course. They looked through pics. We had a ton of evidence. We sent post cards once a week so we had postmarks. They love to see postal mail.
The interviewer did speak Romanian but was American. She wanted to speak in Romanian. She made a dew mistakes that sounded funny but of course don't laugh at them.

Our interview was scheduled on May 2, 2007. I have to say it was a very pleasant experience that we will never forget. After our "Case was complete" at the NVC, my husband contacted the Ambassey in Bucharest and spoke with a very pleasant woman and explain how he wanted to come home to the US before May 5, 2007 because we had a family reunion in Chicago, IL. This lady scheduled his interview for May 2, 2007 and contacted the NVC to have them expedite our papers so we can have our interview and go home in time for the reunion. Our interview was scheduled for 1:00pm. My husband was called to the window after turning in all the documents they asked for. All they asked was 3 very simple questions:
1. Where did we meet?
2. When did we get marry?
3. Did we have any children?

Appointement was at 1PM.. She had to wait about 2 hours once she got there. But she said the interview went well, and the lady giving the interview was very nice. All in all, it took about 2 1/2 hours.. And she walked out with the visa!!!
