Hello everybody!
I had my interview on 24 july, i can say was a pleasant experience.
The day before the interview i got my medical exam at the Bio-medica international,They did some blood tests,x-ray checked my weight and height, my eyes and in the end a general doctor checked me cos he was the one thats works with the embassy.ohh and also i got a cancer vaccin,that is for the girls not older than 26.
Well the next day i had my interview, i got there at 12, but my appoiment was at 1 pm, so i waited 1 hour,until one guy came out from there with a list and called peoples name,then we came in, they checked us worse than in an airoport lol. Then u give yr passport to the counter 5 or 6(depends)and wait again to be called,in the mean while they called me to take my fingerprints at the counter 1, then again i sat down ,i waited around 1h and 30 min,then i was called by the US Consul ,she said to rise my right hand and to swear im telling the truth blah blah and she began... read complete review

As reported by other members, you go in the consulate and you're in big room with seats around this booth, where you eventually get called up to get interviewed. That's probably the worst part, as everybody hears what you have to say...Now, for those interested---before you go in, they do take away umbrellas, mobiles, and anything else electronic or metal; if you're a female, you can retain your purse, and if you'd like, bring a book/magazine to read to pass the time. Once they call you up, they asked the following questions:
How did you meet your fiance?
When and how did you meet in person for the first time?
How many times have you met in person?
Has fiance visited Romania? How many times?
Has your fiance met your parents/family?
How do you keep in touch with fiance?
Be aware that the above questions are the ones asked, but as you respond, they probe for more specific details based on the file you submitted.... After the last questio... read complete review

Well, I must say that from what my Fiancée told me about her interview, things went very well. We filed our paperwork with the California field office back in December for the K-1 Visa and time seemed to have flown by. The next thing we know, she was getting her packet from Bucharest. Let me stress this... The reason things went so well for us (without a lawyer) is because we were very thorough. We must have reviewed our paper work a hundred times before sending it back. Even when we filed the initial paper work in the beginning, we went over and over our paper work to make sure nothing was wrong. Hide nothing and be thorough and you are sure to get your Visa. As an American citizen, please do this for the right reasons, not to just get someone here. That is all we need is to have someone here that lied to get here. We have enough of those here. Over all, I have to give the Bucharest Ambassy an A+. By the way, we just got our Visa two days ago, they put a sticker in your p... read complete review

When my husband had his interview on April 16, 2008, they took the evidence we had and looked at it. He thought he would be speaking one on one alone with the consul, however he said it reminded him of a bank where you go up and speak to the teller because everone waiting could hear the questions he was being asked and it embarrassed him a little to have to speak with all those people listening. Thankfully they only asked him the normal questions. He was then told that we would need a joint sponsor. They told him to call and schedule another appointment when he had the paperwork for the joint sponsor. When he went back for the second interview on May 5, 2008, he was not asked any questions, they just took the joint sponsor's paperwork and looked it over. He was then issued the visa.

I was scheduled at 13.00 (like everybody else) and we entered the consular section one by one after endless security checks, with no luggage, cell-phones or other gadgets... First we were called at the counter, requested passports and then digital fingerprints. After a while I was called back to the counter and requested the papers (Affidavits of support, DS-156 with photos, photo album, evidence of the relationship - I had everything very nicely put in a folder with transparent pouches, labeled so they could see what it was, since they take the evidence and look at it without you being there to explain what they're looking at). I sat in the room waiting to be called at the counter for the interview, and at 14.30 I was called and spoke to a consul (who spoke English AND Romanian, but I chose English). It all took 2 minutes and the questions were the ordinary ones:
When did you meet and how?
When did he visit?
When was the marriage?
Where does he work?
