The interview was short and to the point. No tricky questions, just some background questions, and relationship/family questions.
Personnel was professional and an overall nice atmosphere.
What I didn't like, was that we had to wait outside on the sidewalk in heavy-cold rain for half an hour before we were let in. I hate that communist type of line-up, and I was surprised to see that in front of an American consulate. I complained to one of the guards, a Romanian fellow, and he said "No Comments!".
I left it at that, but if you ever had to go through an interview like that in winter, please wear warm clothes and have an umbrella ready )

My fiance stated that his experience was very pleasant. From the moment he arrived in Romania to get the medical exam done, to the moment he recieved his visa, everything went very smoothly. His interview was at 1:00 and he was out of there by 3:30. Everyone at the embassy was very nice and friendly. They asked him a few basic questions.. like how did we meet, and how often we talk... Then they told him he was approved and that he would have to wait about 30 minutes until he receives his visa. We couldn't be happier.

Everything went smooth, people were nice and helpful (I needed a copy and the secretary offered to do it for me). It took some 4 hours but I left the embassy with visa in hand. The interview lasted less than 5 minutes and it was more like a friendly chat.
