The waiting before the interviw was a little stressfull, like 2 hours, but the interviw was easy, the Consul was very nice and we got the visa after 15 min.If you have a nice, organized file whit proofs( pictures are very important) don't worry, it is very easy!!

Interview lasted 2 minutes. Be prepared with Bona fide marriage proofs.

I had my K1 visa interview yesterday, January 27, 2011 1pm! I'll never forget it because i got the visa and i'm insanely happy and also because it was my future father-in-law's birthday! so we had a lot of reasons to celebrate yesterday. Anyway, here's what happened yesterday at the consular section in Bucharest:
I got there at about 12.30 and we were told to wait outside untill someone would call on our names. At about 1pm a guy came and called our names and we were allowed to go in. They did a check on us and our bags and so on..I had 4 binders with all the paperwork my fiance and I did and it was like 7kilos A security guy from there offered to help me get to the room where we were told to just wait. At some point a lady called my name..i went to the window and she asked for my passport, birth certificate, medical exam results, Affidavit of support, etc. When she saw all the binders she said she would come out and i should hand i... read complete review

We got it!! It was a quick & painless process. The US Embassy in Romania was surprisingly efficient. In 1 hour we were done with everything: fingerprints, interview that lasted 2 minutes, and then visa was issued half hour later. We didnt wait long at all... We give the US Embassy in Bucharest our thumbs up!!!! Hooray

Overall the experience was good. The appointment was at 1 pm and was done by 3:30 pm. Everything went smoothly without any problems. The consulate asked my husband if he spoke English and he said a little bit. The next question he asked was when is the last time you spoke with your wife and he told him 4 hours ago. He then asked where will you live in the US and my husband said the city and state. The next question was what did you do for work in Greece and my husband told him. The last question he asked was if he has any pictures of the house in the US and my husband said yes in the photo albums. The embassy was not too busy and everyone was very nice.
