We arrived at the USEM at 5 AM for our scheduled 6:30 AM interview. There were already about 50 people inline ahead of us. We waited on the benches outside the embassy for it to open. It opened about 6:05 AM and the guards tried to keep order and ushered people into the embassy security check area. After clearing the security check we were place in loose order for another que where we would be given a processing number that would follow us through the entire procedure. After being issued a number, about 30 minutes after being admitted to the USEM, we waited for our number to be called. Finally it was displayed on the 'call board' about 7 AM and we went for a pre-interview with a Filipino who checked to see that we had all the proper papers for our final interview. He asked us for letters and pictures to add to the packet from the NVC. He then directed us to a line for biometric scanning. I am writing this for my wife. She had a 7:30 AM interview and showed up between 6-6:30 AM. She and her mother stayed at Cherry Blossoms hotel a few blocks away for P1,515 for the premium room. It is a great deal.
She had to wait some, but she got out of the Embassy around 11:30 AM.
The pre-screener was nice and collected the data as stated numerous times here.
For the Consul interview, the man was happy and nice. He quickly scanned the documents and said, "Oh, your husband is under 40 years old. This will be quick." (She is 31. I am 38.)
He took the primary documents and only wanted my IRS Tax Transcript (Which you can order from the IRS that includes all your return info. Check the box that has the transcript include your W-2 and 1099-MISC info also. This is a very valid way to prove you filed your taxes and is "free" from the IRS.) with my I-134 Affidavit of Support.
