Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

My visa interview was set at 830am. I arrived at the US embassy at around 630am with my mom and aunt. There was no line at the Immigrant Visa line so I was able to get in as soon as I got there. Lucky me! Then I went to the Immigrant Visa Unit and got my number from the lady at the counter. She took my appointment letter and asked if I don't need to go back to St. Luke's. I said no. I sat down and waited. I was observing the pre-screeners from Windows 17-20 and the guy on Window 19 was the only one using his microphone. I was sitting at the back near the CR but I could still hear his questions. So I was thinking I hope this guy doesn't call me. But what do you know, God has a sense of humor and HE called me! Oh well, so I went to him. He was a serious looking man and was all business. He was nice and not rude. He was addressing me in Tagalog and asked me the following questions:

1.What's your name?
2.When's your birthday?
3.How ol... read complete review

Interview was long...20 minutes. Spent most of time asking me about my past relationship and why I never accepted his repeated petitions. After that, he did not ask me much about me and my husband. Realizing all of my papers were in order, he really started hunting. "Hmmm, I see you changed your birth certificate because your last name was orignially spelled incorrectly. Please go get us another NBI with your incorrect spelling on it, we'll call this delay "NBI AKA"." I left and immediately went and obtained the NBI AKA. I will deliver next Monday and hopefully they will process it soon.

Review Topic: K1 Visa

I arrived in USEM at around 6AM. There were already variety of people lining up for each of their intentions. I saw seafarers, old people wanting to get visa applications, kids brought my their parents during the interview.. The irony was, even despite the gesture of browsing through each of my documents pretty much every night before the interview, I still overlooked one of the important documents I should have brought, my APPOINTMENT LETTER. Thanks to all the considerate guards in USEM, they let me in when they saw that my name is listed in the paper that they were holding.

First things first, I was told to line up at the X-RAY machine to have my bag scanned for electronic devices, even liquids are NOT allowed inside the premises. Then I was guided to sit in one of the blue chairs and was asked to wait for further instructions. I tried my best to entertain myself by talking to my seat mates in each of the processes but sad to say, NONE of them are from VJ. ... read complete review
