I was so relaxed at the interview and it went soooo smoothly! I've got visajourney to thank for making it so easy and stress-free.

So here's how it went...

We got there at about 8:15 or so for a 9:00 interview time (October 26, 2007). When we arrived there was a line out the door. It took a little while to get in, but I believe we were seated by around 8:45 or so. I thought the consulate looked bigger from the outside, but it actually seemed somewhat small on the inside. We went in the door, went through security, then walked past an outdoor section before we went in the building where we waited. The DHL "office" was a little kiosk-type place located on the way in to the waiting area. So on to the waiting area...there are two waiting sections. The first section included the first 10 or so windows and was at the front of the building, and the section where the K-1 and K-3 people go is at the back (windows 11-15). There are 14 windows and the 15th i... read complete review

Jorge and I had our interview on Tuesday, September 4. We arrived at the embassy around 7:30am for a 8am interview. We met Scott and Kermely while waiting in line (who were also there for a K1 and I had met virtually through VisaJourney).

After we got into the embassy we were called to the window. The woman was very nice and asked Jorge for:
-DS-156
-DS-156K
-DS-157
-Banco de la nacion payment voucher
And then she told us to sit down until we were called.

We were both really nervous and didn't know what to expect next. After waiting for about 20 minutes we were called back up to the window. If was a different woman this time. She was kind of curt with us, not really mean, but not nice either. She spoke in Spanish and asked Jorge for:
-DS-156, DS-156k and DS-157 (which we explained that we had already turned in).
-I-134 (she asked for my tax returns, which I only had my W2 copies from the last three ye... read complete review

Our interview was last tuesday Sep 4th. My Scott came for the interview and we were at the embassy at 7am (our appointment was for 8am).
We were standing in line and we met another American/Peruvian couple, Lindsey and Jorge. We contacted each other through Visa JOurney, so it was really cool!
As soon as we got into the embassy, we were called to a window to show some documents:
1. Forms 156 (2 copies w/pic)
2. 156K
3. Banco Continental payment ticket
4. Certificados Policiales (u must get them at Aramburu Office in Lima)
5. Certficado de antecedentes penales
6. Certificado de antecedentes judciales
7. Affidavit of support (and the supporting documents for it)
8. Scott's Tax returns (they checked 2004, 2005 and only kept 2006 with them)
9. Pictures (we made a nice file with pictures so it could pass under the window frame)
10. Other evidences (another file with plane tickets, e-mails, le... read complete review

So we had our interview scheduled for 23 of Aug. at 9:00 am in the morning and we arrived at 8:30 and Fredy and I (Jenny) parked in private paid parking in front of the Embassy. We entered with no line and entered to sit down and wait on those uncomfortable benches for three and a half hours. ahh. So, in the first window they asked for reciept de Banco, formulario DS-156, DS-157,los formularios DS-230 que nosotros llenamos no fue necesario, el 156K que viene en al paquete 4 tampoco fue necesario.
in the second window they asked for registros policiales, penales, judiciales, partida de nacimiento y exámen médico.
Tienen Hijos?
Fueron casados antes?
Estuvistes antes en los estados?
Y luego dijero... read complete review

I had really wanted to be at the interview but could not be there as I could not get time off work. We took a lot of time however to make sure that we had everything in order. On the day of the interview I am sure that I was more nervous than Claudia.

One of the things that we did a just after we got the NOA2 was to prepare the I-134 form. We downloaded this form from the internet, I completed it and sent it to Claudia. When packet 4 arrived it had a similar form but on careful examination we noticed that it expired on 10/31/83. Yes you did read that correctly J We thought that we better complete this form as well which I did but with the earthquake and slow mail to Peru it did not arrive in time. At least we had the 2007 edition.. We hoped it would work.

Claudia arrived 45 mins early for her interview and was ushered in to the embassy where she waited for 15 mins before being called to the window. She was asked for her passport, Ds-156 and DS-15... read complete review
