Went to interview with fiance. She went up I could see problems returned with her to see what problems, they accused her of passport fraud. The embassy said requesting information from United States. I called several times all they say takes long time still working. I went to 2 lawyers one said could not help and the other wanted $4000.00 to do FOIA. Both lawyers told me they harass Peruvians. I sent in request for foia received information 5 months later. There was no passport fraud sent documents to embassy 10/18/09 still waiting 10/29/09. I hope this is not always the case for other people. Very long process!

This was a joke. They called us up to the window a couple times to ask a couple basic processing questions. We finally got up to the window for the 3rd time after waiting several hours and they asked us just a few questions.

'where/how did you meet'
'what do you do currently in the USA (to me)'
'what do you plan on doing in the usa (to her)'

Then they said, OK i think we can approve this. They didn't look at our pictures that we brought. They only briefly glanced at our passports showing out meetings outside the USA in various countries.

I suppose they must have approved it in their minds without even really needing to talk to us.

We assumed we were going to get approved so there was no rejoicing really.

We did see other couples leave with sad looks on their faces. They were taken into a back interview room. For whatever reason they didn't even take us into a back room they just helped us at the ... read complete review

We were lucky enough to make contact with the embassy through some friends here in Washington DC. They were expecting us and expedited our papers through the consulate process.

Interview was quick and painless.

The most annoying and desperate part you'll live is the waiting in between the interviews. Other than that, for us it was fast and we never made it inside the little room, it was all by the window and we were in and out but like i said, the waiting in between is the part that just gets to you so the petitioner has to relax the beneficiary so he/she can answer the questions without a hassle, petitioner will be ask no more than 3 questions, then asked to go sit down and then the beneficiary takes on. Bring pictures and original tax return. I suggest to just answer whats asked and dont say more than you have to, be brief and to the point and next thing you know, you will just pay the 15 soles or 18 soles dhl fee and that'll be all for the day until he/she has to go and pick up the passport 3 days later or so.
GOOD LUCK
I give it a 4 because the long waits in between just creates a little anxiety that just makes you nervous and it's annoying ... read complete review

It was fine... I was there at 8:00 am and finish at 12 pm. A lot of people waiting for their interview too.
I'm happy because I get my visa, but the women that interview me were kind of mean or maybe they just had a bad day....LOL! yes...I have to think that way.
