The Embassy refused to reschedule the interview for my fianceé. On October 21, 2011 she received the packet asking for various documents from a variety of government agencies and medical exams. However, the interview and deadline for submission were November 2, 2011. On October 24, 2011 I emailed a formal letter in PDF format asking to reschedule due insufficient notice and my own scheduling conflict. Within 2 hours, the embassy sent me an email refusing to reschedule.

I had to contact my US Senator for something as reasonable and simple as rescheduling.

Interview went well, it didn't last more than 15 minutes. I arrived early at the USEM, made the line and went inside about 15 minutes after my arrival. Then I waited to pay the fee, and another wait for the consul to interview me. The consul was a very young lady in her mids 20's I guess. All I was asked was for my son's CRBA which I haven't at that time, so they gave me the yellow slip to send a copy when I get it, so now that I have it I will send the copy and receive my visa by mail!!

The first part is the Medical Interview. We went to the Clinica Anglo-Americana, and the two things I would recommend is bring a book and food. We were there for about 7 hours and it is not a plesant waiting room. However, the staff was very amiable with my fiancee and allowed me to accompany her.

For the interview at the Lima Consulate, first be careful about overpaying on taxis. Be suspect of anything above 18 soles during rush hour as a couple of drivers asked for 25 or even 30. Secondly it is a giant fortress and the earlier the better. We got there about an hour before our appointment so there were no lines. They will take all electronics so it is better to leave them. We were directed to then enter a waiting room once we showed the appointment time for my fiancee. The waiting room reminds me of a lobby of a modern hotel. We waited about 15 minutes, and then were called up. She asked for the forms, my affadafit, and asked some questions, "Where did you ... read complete review
