I wasn't able to attend the interview as I had to return early to the US, but my now husband told me it was very easy and straightforward. He went early and waited in line. The only hiccup was that for some reason the woman couldn't locate his original birth certificate in the binder (I had put the documents in page protectors and think they stuck together). She told him that he needed to submit it but other than that everything was in order and he was approved. He, of course, found the certificate right after leaving the embassy, literally on the steps outside, but they wouldn't let him in. So he had to walk a couple blocks away to DHL to mail the certificate to the embassy. It delayed the process by about a week, but other than that was pretty painless. Overall a good experience. He was out of the embassy by 9AM.

I was not able to attend to the interview, but according to my Fianceé, everything went smoothly. they ( her daughter was present also) were there early, but cannot be in line until 30 prior the interview time. once inside, they were directed to the section were K1 visas are processed. they pay for the visa and then presented the required documents to the officer, after about 45 minute wait, they had the interview with the consul, which took only 3 minutes, and he asked her 2 questions, how we met? and When was the last time your fiance come to visit you?. after that, the consul said that the visa has been approved and just wait a week to pick up the passport at the DHL office picked at the application process. now to look for airline tickets

Our interview in Lima was, surprisingly, a piece of cake. Our interview was at 08:45, we arrived at approximately 08:20am to find a hug snaking line. My fiancee stood in the long line while I approached one of the workers and asked if we should stand in a different line. She asked to see our official "carta de cita" that listed the interview type and time, and then put us at the very front of the line (saved us easly about 45 minutes of waiting).

Passing through security is similar to in the airport - cramped, remove belts and items in pockets, pass through the metal detector, you know the drill.

Once inside, the process was very similar to what I read in previous reviews on Visa Journey with a few small exceptions:
- Payment. You no longer make payment at the same block of windows where the interview is held. After sitting for only about 30 seconds, my fiancee was called up to window 13. We were instructed to leave the current building we wer... read complete review

Review Topic: K3 Visa

We arrived at the US Embassy in Lima at 8:20am for an 8:45am interview (K3/K4 visas although they are non-immigrant visas, they are processed by the immigrant section of the embassy).

1) At 8:20am - We followed the second line for immigrant visas and there were only four people in front of us. After we presented the interview letter we were given three yellow access passes for my wife, daughter, and myself to be able to get in through security. It was very organized. Left cellphones at the check point as they are not allowed inside the Embassy.

2) At 8:30am - Once we passed security we were told to go inside and find the promoter and give him our interview letter. After we gave it to him he told us to go to the far side of the waiting area where immigrant visas are processed and wait for my wife's name to be called.

3) At 8:40am - My wife's name was called by the CO and asked to present the two DS-160 forms receipts for my wife and daught... read complete review

Fiance arrived at the Embassy at 8:20 am interview at 8:45 am. After waiting in line for about 35 minutes one of the embassy staff asked to see his interview letter. He was sent to the head of another line. He entered shortly afterward, went through security. After arriving in the waiting area he was called to one of the windows the woman asked for his pictures, medical, affidavit of support. She was very friendly asked a few questions about how we met nothing very critical. She gave him a paper and told him to go to another window and pay the fee. Fiance waited in line (there was an old couple at the window asking a ton of questions). After several minutes the woman from the first window called him back. He smiled and told her he was still waiting to pay. She smiled and told him to return once he had paid. When the old couple had finally finished the man at the payment window apologized and my fiance smiled and said he understood. Paid his fee and went back to the first window. Woman ... read complete review
