Here is my story.
Didn't sleep last night. So left for Islamabad at 03:00 AM & reached there at 06:30 AM. Waited for a while, then bought Ticket for the shuttle. Reached Embassy approximately at 07:30AM maybe. First I stood in the immigration line, then they cleared me to enter the embassy, There again they had some security checks. Then waited for my turn & then was entered in a room for finger prints. After that they told me to sit & wait for my name to be called. After a while i was told to go to Window number 6.
There a Pakistani guy asked me for medical Report,Passport and Nikah Nama (Original in URDU) . I told him NVC asked for AFOS & Tax Return/Extension letter also. He then attached new AFOS & Return in the documents & told i will be called for interview in a while.
Then after 30 minutes i was called to Window Number 3 where a Chinese/Filipino American lady had my passport. Her first smile told me It was going to be a good day :D.

I accompanied my wife to the interview. The overall experience was not too bad. However, our case was placed on AP.
I was asked:
1. Where I work
2. When I got married
3. If the wedding arranged
My wife was asked:
1. Why her parents thought this was a good match
2. How much schooling she has done
3. Age
4. What countries she has visited
The interviewer then said that the passport pictures my wife had submitted were not correct because her ears and hairline weren't showing. I told him that this requirement is not mentioned on the State Department website to which he had no response.
He said we would have to re-submit the photos and they will look a little more into the details of the case and get back to us in 1-5 months. He held on to my wife's passport and gave us a Refusal Worksheet.
The appointment was for 8 -- The shuttle dropped us off around 7:15 and we were... read complete review

My wife was at embassy at 8:00AM and she was out at 8:15AM. Questions they asked.
Who is calling you. (My Husband)
Where does he work.
What's your date of marriage.
Is he your cousin. (No)
Then how did you meet. (Told story,, arrange marriage)
You are married for two years then why are you going now. (Because case was in f2a and was upgraded in Jan 2012).
Show me wedding pictures. (Showed him nikah album).
He also commented on her passport that you've done lot of traveling. (We went to thailand, srilanka, maldives and for Umrah).
Congratulations, you will get your visa in 1-2 weeks.
WHAT A RELIEVE.

I am a US citizen and my wife was denied visa based on her I 130 application because we haven't done the walima yet.
My wife told the visa officer during her interview that we will do our walima in US because all of my family is in US but the Visa officer told her that she is not eligible for visa because walima is not done yet.
Is this a requirement for I 130 visa?
We want to do Walima in US so that all of my family members can attend this function but visa officer told her to do the walima and submit the pictures. She kept her passport and gave her a paper saying that she is not eligible for visa
Can someone tell me what to do now? I really want to have my walima in US, thats where my family and friends are. If I do a Walima in Pakistan, then I dont think my family members will be able to attend.......
