My wife interview at US Consulate, Lagos, went well and was brief about 8 minutes. She was asked 7 questions such as 1. Who petitioned you? 2. What is your husband name? 3. How did you meet? 4. What does your husband do? 5. Have any of you been previously married? 6. Do you or your husband have any children? 7. When was the first time you met? The Consulate Officer requested to see some wedding and introduction photos and boom the officer said to my wife you are approved. From the beginning to the end of the interview, the Consulate Officer was friendly, nice and happy with smiles from both sides. My wife received text the next day after interview to pick up her passport. What a beautiful day! She picked up her passport and other package today August 5, 2019. Her flight is booked and she will join me before the end of August, 2019.. I can't wait. I am excited!

Hi everyone! This is gonna be a long one...

So it’s basically me and my family who were applying for immigrant visa. For some background, the whole family has been living in the US for the past 5 years under non immigrant visa but applied for immigrant visa. So we have an ample amount of experience with the embassy and interviews and have gotten all visas approved at this point. The interview date was set for July 23rd. We got there around 5:20 and there was a good amount of people but we were still able to comfortably squeeze ourself to the front so we were one of the first people in the queue. They didn’t open the gate for security checks until about 6:20. We went through all the checks and all of that and got to the building where interview was taking place. They called us up 3 times. First time a blackguy I presume was African collected all of our documents and discussed them briefly then we sat back down. Second time was our fingerprints then we sat ba... read complete review

I had my interview on the 30th of July, everything was great. I was asked about 8 basic questions about my wife, myself and our girls.

During the interview, the consular officer told me the petitioner's information on my DS260 was missing that I failed to fill it in. Not sure how it happened but it was blank except that I selected spouse as the petitioner.

Anyway, the consular officer told me -- I am going to be returning your passport back to you until you have that information updated. Do that and I will issue your visa, she said. I simply just said thank you and was about to put my passport back in my folder when she said "wait, can you access your ds260 and have that information updated as soon as you leave here?" I said yes!... She then said, give me back your passport and put your petitioner's information on the DS260 immediately after leaving here and then email us or I will return your passport back if I don't get it before leaving my office tod... read complete review

My fiance had his interview and he was approved! We are so happy.

He got there about 5:30 AM. He went through the security checks and biometrics. He was called in for his interview.
She asked the following questions:

Who is calling you?
How did you meet?
Where did you meet?
Was she married?
Are you married?
When are you getting married
Do you have pictures? Let me see. He showed the album he put together.
Where does your fiance live?

The CO said the magic words "You are approved" gave him a white paper, gave him the pamphlet and said your visa will be ready in 5 days.

My advice:
1. Pray - not only for approval but to be calm and confident.
2. Know your partner- there is a post on VJ with questions asked by CO- go over them
3. Be respectful and dress nicely
4. Be confident and look into the CO when answering questions
5. If you don't k... read complete review
