ARRIVAL AT THE EMBASSY
I want to thank God for being faithful. My fiance leaves far from the embassy,so he had to leave home about 4 a.m. in order to beat the heavy lagos traffic. He got to the embassy around 4.45am.The car park wasn't yet opened ,so he had to wait for like an hour before it was eventually opened. He then proceeded to the waiting bay for applicants. One of the security officers attached to the embassy came to instruct those for immigrant visas and carrying the x-rays,to open them and bring out a sealed white envelope in the x-ray file and open it.Another came to announce that those for 6 a.m,6.30a.m and 7 a.m appointments should line up.The line for DV and IV applicants was different. He went in to meet the nigerian officials checking appointment letters and other details. He was given a slip instructing how much to be paid.He then proceeded for a security check before being ushered into the embassy complex. After making payment to the cashier,he encountered an... read complete review

I had mixed feelings when rating this Embassy. There were very positive things and big frustrations as well. The positive was that the interviewer was kind, respectful, and clear in instruction. Another positive was that when I finally was able to use a bathroom at the Embassy, when I blacked out a medic was called and I was given appropriate care.
I believe what happened negatively at our interview will help other couples who will prepare to interview there.
1st. Check to be sure NVC has all original documents and sent them to the embassy. We were told my husbands original birth certificate was never sent, however it was given back to us at the interview. We chose to get another original birth certificate just in case.
2nd. We submitted an I-864 along with taxes and all required financial documents but they did not have it at our first interview in Lagos so they said they could not process our visa at the first interview. BUT w... read complete review

After all the security checking and all, I finally got inside and we were told to sit on a chair inside a room that looks like a waiting room. They started calling people by the #s that was initially given when we were going through the security in a pattern that looks randomly to me. After waiting for close to 2 hours, it was now my turn. A Nigerian employee came forward to collect some of my documents (Affidavit of support, DS 156 and 156K, medical result, police report and birth certificate) and I was told to wait for CO. During my wait, I saw a lot of people that were denied by this young crazy-looking Asian lady. There was this lady that was refused a visa by the most famous Asian lady due to dowry trap. Around 9:15am, I was finally called to the front by a CO. She is a white lady in her late 20s. She was very professional and kind. She even allowed me to carry my 5months old son through out the whole interview. She made the whole process less stressful for me.
