Our Jan interview went smoothly until the CO had an issue with some emails wherein I blacked out what I deemed to be private info. I misinterpreted a post about using a black marker to mark out text. You can black out text that can be used for identity theft only. If you feel you have to black out anything in emails and sms don't present it. The CO wanted to see the original emails of the blacked out docs. Later that day, I scanned and emailed them to my SO and he went back the next day but he couldn't get in. I immediately emailed for a new appt. date. Set for 2 weeks later.
The Feb interview went well. She was satisfied with the content of the original emails and said all was in order but that we needed a joint sponsor (i am self employed with infrequent income). My advise - if you are borderline and can get one prepare the joint sponsor form and give it to your SO for the interview just in case its needed. This may save you some time. I woke up at 4.30am on this faithful morning of Feb.1. I prayed, had my bible study, and went through my documentation again to be sure i was not missing anything. I left the house at 6.30am(my interview was 10am but i did not want to take chances). I boarded a taxi from Ketu to the Consulate@N1,500. While on the third mainland bridge at about 7.45am, the taxi developed a fault(can you believe that!), and driver had to push the taxi all the way to Lagos Island. I was furius but thankfully i had enough time on hand. I was able to change taxis and did finally arrive at the embassy around 9am. I paid N100 for the plastic chair i sat on while waiting for the 10am appointment to be called. The 10am queue was called at exactly 10am, but we stood on the queue till 10.10am before they opened the gates. We were asked to open all sealed envelopes and when i walked in and submitted showed my appointment letter, they went through the list and told me my name was not on the list of appointments for... read complete review

Lagos Consulate & Interview Review:
We got there at about 6:20 a.m. on Jan. 26th and there was already a long queue outside.
At around 6:45, the line started moving. I was able to enter the sitting area and wait with my husband together with all the other visa applicants (immigrant and non-immigrant alike).
When the applicants were called to go through security and enter the Embassy, I was asked to please leave. I went inside the Embassy via the ACS (American Citizens Services) entrance and waited for my husband to finish (while sitting in the air conditioned lobby
I waited about 3 hours before he came out and found me in the lobby. He had a big smile on his face and gave me a thumbs-up sign!
This is his review:
He was interviewed by a young, blonde, white American male CO with sideburns and a mustache.
CO: who is petitioning for u?
Seyi: My wife - Deborah......
CO: Where does she liv... read complete review
