I arrived a bit "too early" for the interview (about 45 minutes before) and was asked to come back in 30 minutes.
Staff were very friendly, from the security to the actual interviewers. The correspondence sent via email (for packet 3 - instructions) the months before was very helpful and friendly.
The day of my interview there were only 2 people including myself so the room was very quiet. I could hear some questions they asked the person before me who also applied for a K-1 visa, and these were quite different from my questions. My interview took about 5 minutes. Two staff were there, one being my interviewee and another appearing to be his supervisor (maybe he was new to the job I guess). Questions asked included our engagement date, my fiance's name, my job in New Zealand, my time in NZ. The majority of the questions felt focused on my life in NZ more so than our wedding or future marriage. It felt professional and a positive experience for me

My experience with the embassy was pretty good, the day of the interview went really smoothly. I'd forgotten to bring the photocopy of the packet I sent in before the interview so I was up late frantically trying to piece as much as I could back together, and B wouldn't let me even start talking until she saw me take some deep breaths. She's just as lovely as everyone else says in the reviews, and made the first part really easy. My interview was at 10, and I had about an hour and a half wait, which was fine. The interview windows are just that, like subway windows, so you can hear other people being approved and that makes it all a little easier. The questions were as expected, how did we meet, what does he do now etc, and less than 10 minutes later it was all over and approved!

The one thing that I note could be improved is communication before the interview. At one point I called to double check that I had the correct documents and was told they didn't have time to d... read complete review

My interview was scheduled for 10.30am. I arrived at 10.18am and was told to go wait outside and come back at 10.30. Waited outside the lifts and went back in at 10.26am. Left my bag and phone and other personal belongings in a locker in the foyer area and was given a number for the locker. He let me through. I checked all our documents with B, who was lovely. She asked when I was planning to travel, confirmed she had all she needed. Moved to the next window and rang the buzzer, waited for about 10min and paid the fee. Then sat and waited for 2 hours for my turn to interview. At 12.30 I went to the next window and interviewed, was asked 4 questions, where we met, who traveled where and how many times and the story of the proposal and why I was now living in New Zealand when I was born in South Africa. Was approved and given my receipt. 2 days later my passport was ready at the post office for me to collect. Overall a good experience.

Okay so I’m this case I beneficiary was a Indian citizen residing in Nz since just a year before the interview and we were really nervous as they won’t push our case to home country as it might get more time and money consuming. But all thanks to ELLE!! If this lady is handling your case she will make it everything to help you. First we got a date on 24th April which was after 70 days and was really long and also risky as my visa in Nz was ending in March so Elle made it sure to get an earlier as much as she could and she found one just after the week on 15th feb.

On the day interview at 9:45, I finally met Elle who just made my morning by her greeting. She made it sure every document is alright and after 1 hour waiting I got my name called. The consular made take the oath and then asked me how me and my fiancé met, where was he born and when did he get his naturalisation. Then he took out white paper which just missed my heart beat as I heard so many 2... read complete review
