My fiance and I are very happy to finally have his K1 Visa. Once we finally got our I-129F approved the Auckland consulate sent us our packet of information within 2 weeks. It took us a bit longer to gather our paperwork together (especially since my fiance had to take a few days off work as the closest US approved doctor was Christchurch and we live in Queenstown). Once we sent the second batch of paperwork off we were called the day after they received it to set up an interview, which was awesome.
The day of the interview was ok. I wouldn't say it went as well as some of these other reviews posted below but it was fine. First we saw "B" the lady who had been sending us correspondence. She was awesome. Really friendly lady who told us our paperwork was fine and she told my fiance what he would need when he entered the US. She really helped soothe our nerves. We saw her immediately once we entered the consulate so we figured we would be in and out quickly just... read complete review

We had a great experience at our visa interview. Every person we encountered was super friendly, from security to the first person who screened us to the guy that "interviewed" us. The interview itself was only two minutes long, with very basic questions and an interviewer with a good sense of humour :-) And he didn't even ask to have all my carefully collected evidence of our relationship! He was convinced based on our previous paperwork and rapport on the day.
The only downside was that we had a 3 hour wait. We were warned about this by the first person, who recommended we go out and get breakfast before coming back to wait for our names to be called. They were apologetic about the wait and explained it was due to being down staff members that day.
Watching the pre-screening of the other people coming in for fiance visas, it was clear the consulate staff were mostly concerned with ensuring noone was feeling stressed about it. They were all very kin... read complete review

When arriving, I first dealt with my case manager who had been very helpful all along. I was able to see our papers in front of her with a big "approved" stamp already on them. She asked a few simple questions, such as when I planned to travel to the USA, and then told me to sit down and wait to be interviewed. During the actual interview I was asked the following questions:
1. Where we met
2. Where we had been on Holiday
3. Where was my fiance now
4. What does my fiance do for work
After all the nerves, it was all pretty painless. The process went really fast and efficiently once our packet made it to New Zealand; the interview was scheduled a week and a half from when I had submitted the last of my forms/medical. I had my passport back within 24 hours of the interview and flew out a couple days later.

Great Consulate... very easy process. Security held my bags and jacket, while I took in the evidence to the interior.... asked a few questions, paid the required fee...
Had to wait for a half hour until the actual 'interview' which took all of 5 minutes and was simply verifying information already given in the write ups. My medical information is still to arrive so my visa is 'granted' pending receiving the medical.
In and out within one hour......

Smooth quick and stress-free.
My interview was on the 21st of May and I arrived at the consulate at 9am for my 9.30am interview, I handed my bag in to the security guard who put it through the scanner and then put it inside a locker after which he handed me a yellow card with the locker number on it.
I went inside after being told to go to window 5 and a lady there took my fingerprints and went over my documents, she looked at my documents and said I had everything correct and nothing was missing and to sit down outside after paying at window 4.
I paid and then sat down and I waited for about 20mins- 30 mins and I got called up to Window 2 for my interview, the guy at the window said hi and asked me a couple of questions
What is your fiance's name?
How did you meet?
What is his job?
What's your job?
And then it was all over, he got me to sign the bottom of a form i handed in previously... read complete review
