The questions were very straightforward.
1. Where did you meet your fiancé ?
2. Have you ever been married before ?
3. Did you use a mariage broker ?
4. For how long have you been living in the Netherlands ?
5. When are you planning to get married ?
Most of the staff were friendly but the consular officer that interviewed me seemed to be in a bad mood. Maybe it was the time of the day (afternoon) and I assume because they are under staffed and overworked but nevertheless i answered all the questions. It took about 30 min because there was a misunderstanding of translation on one of my documents that was from a former colony of the Netherlands but was written and legalized in Dutch. I would advise anyone that has a situation like this to get it translated to save yourself the delay because the consular officers are not Native dutch speakers. They are familiar with the documents that come from the dutch government but not the ones fro... read complete review

I had an appointment today at 8:30. I was called up to the first officer receiving all the original documents to scan. Everything was there, except I didn’t have the financial evidence ( affidavit of support, taxes etc). I hadn’t brought that because it states on the travel.state.gov specifically “You do not have to bring your AOS package to the interview†on the instructions page. So I was very confused about that and started to doubt myself. In addition, the email from the embassy with the interview date included a direct link to the travel state.gov website where it states clearly that I did not have to bring the AOS package to the interview. It was frustrating that communication is not streamlined / clear because this could have all been avoided.
I then had to wait to be called up for the interview. Had to wait over an hour before it was my turn. Officer was friendly but also mentioned i should have brought the affidavit of support etc ( or... read complete review

The interview which was on June 21st was quite a comfortable experience, no hassles, no panic, the consular officer just makes you feel relaxed. Everything went well in terms of the answers and documents provided and the consular stated they were satisfied with the outcome and are waiting for the result of the medicals before a visa will be issued.

THE INTERVIEW W/O MEDICAL RECEIVED YET
It's just one window so you get to tell your story in front of everyone else but it was extremely no pressure. The interviewer was warm and sparkly. Interested in him and me and how we met. When we last saw each other. She joked around with him. L says he went in expecting a tense hospital atmosphere but instead it felt like a normal doctor appointment waiting room. Everyone was talking about what they were there for and how it was going.
He passed...but with the condition we have to wait until the doctor exam results get to the consulate.
