February 5th I had my medical examination which was a very pleasant experience.
It's a 3 hour travel for me to Amsterdam so of course I was making my self a lot more nervous than necessary. "What if I forgot to bring something" etc.
Dr. Schulte's office is basically just a house and it feels very homely. The people were extremely friendly. Because I was an hour early (due to the long travel times) the lady suggested I go get my x-ray (50 euro) taken first.
That place is about a 15 minute walk away from Dr. Schulte's office and is very easy to find. The woman here didn't seem to enjoy her job very much and was very serious. I don't think I've seen a smile on her face (well maybe when I gave her the 50 euro lol).
Back at Dr. Schulte I was given a DTP booster vaccination (35 euro) and they took 1 vial of blood. After that we recorded my height, weight, heart rate, blood pressure and a couple other tests were done. That was finished up with a small list of ques... read complete review

I was very nervous for my interview, my appointment was at 13:30, I got there at 13:00 and there was already someone waiting there. There were some cool people also waiting in line that were going through the same thing (K1) and that took some of the nerves away. At 13:30 a securtiy guard came outside and asked all the immigration applicants for 13:30 to form up a line, I was 2nd in line so I could go through security quick (I left my purse with my brother and only took my papers inside) and I was told to go to window 5.
At window 5 there was a consular (the person who normally takes the papers turned out to be sick) who asked for my papers (Affadavit of support, stamp, proof of payment and birth certificate). I asked him if he wanted any of the evidence of our relationship that I brought, but he said it wasnt neccesary. He also took my fingerprints and then I was told to take a seat.
After waiting for about 15mins I was called back to window 5, he asked m... read complete review

I had my interview last week at the consulate in Amsterdam. The people were very friendly. I made sure to have all my paperwork good and ready to go. I made copies of everything and they did ask for photocopies and the originals. They asked how we met and were very kind. It was a really good experience. The total was about 30 minutes (including the wait). I received my passport with the visa in the mail yesterday. They work really fast
So now I can go to my fiance and plan the wedding!

When I finely got the letter from the consulate in Amsterdam, the whole planning began. You have to fill in forms, get your checklist items ready, and send it all back to the consulate. Then they can schedule your interview. Together with the date and time of your interview, you get the telephone number of the doctor you have to see.
A week before your interview you get your medical check and chest x-ray. They check your vaccinations (when you call for an appointment you can request which ones you need). I did that so I could let that be done by my own doctor. I had to have BMR and DTP, They also check your heart, lungs, length, weight, they take blood for STD’s and the x-ray is for TB.
The doctor is a kind and relaxed Dutch doctor. You wait together with his patients in an old Amsterdam house. The x-ray is about 1 km walk from the doctor. So I parked my car at the parking lot Museumplein. From there everything is close by and easy to get to by foot. ... read complete review
