Approved yaay! The people at the consulate were very friendly. The interviewer asked me quite a few questions, about how our relationship started and progressed, if I met his family, our plans in the US and our age difference. He was trying to get a complete story after reading up on our file before the interview. I saw he or his colleague had made some notes of questions to ask. All in all I only spent 40 minutes inside, of which about 25 at the windows (first just some paperwork, secondly the interview). Good luck everyone!

I had my interview in April 2018 and everything went very smooth. Don't go too early, since they won't let you in. I was there 15 minutes before my appointment and that's the right time to be there. Went through security, got the necessary labels for my interview, gave all the required documents (background check, financial papers etc) to a lady at one window (she'll tell you exactly what she needs). After that I sat down for about 3-5 minutes and then I got called to the window for my interview. You just stand in front of a window, answering the questions. I was the only one together with 1 other girl, so my interview was exactly at the time I planned it. The man who did my interview was nice but strict (they need to be). Just simple questions about if I met his family, how we met, what kind of work he did etc. When we were done he told me I was approved and he was very nice, just chatting about 90 days to wed. 1:15 pm in, 1:40 pm outside, approved :-) Interview took about 10 minutes.

Today I had my K1 visa interview at the Amsterdam Consulate.

My interview time was 13:00 so I arrived 10 min early. There was no line and I could walk in the moment I arrived.
I was allowed to move over to the next room after they checked my belongings.
Stepping inside of the second room there was a sweet Dutch lady who asked me for my passport, passport photo's and DS-160 confirmation page.
After she took them I sat down and later on she brought the stuff back to me (I guess she put a sticker on my passport where it needs be send back to after approval).
After 10 min I was called up to the first window where the man asked for my:
- Birthcertificate;
- Police certificate (VOG);
- I-134 (petitioner and co-sponsor)
After giving him my documents he told me to take a seat again and wait for my name to be called again.
It kinda looked like he was struggling with all the documents and he was not super orginazed b... read complete review

My husband had his interview on September 18, and said it was a friendly, easy experience at the US consulate. Although he was first in, he ended up waiting a few hours before his name was called for the actual interview. He said the officer was very friendly, and asked a few short questions like, how did you meet (online), when did you first meet, what does your wife do (I've been raising our son here in the Netherlands full time while we await our immigration), asking about his joint sponsor (mother in law) a few brief questions about her. Handed him a stack of photos and said "so it was love at first sight huh" (I'm sure our photos really spoke that, we were glowing when we first met) and said that's it, you're approved! The actual interview lasted somewhere between 5 and 10 minutes.

Very smooth experience and he said the staff and officer were friendly and made him feel at ease through the whole process. It's normal to he nervous, they understand your whole life lies... read complete review

US citizen is writing this on behalf of the fiancé!
{Me, the US citizen's comments}

"I arrived at 12:28 for a 1:00 appointment and was able to get in right away. Outside they my checked passport and my name on the list. Next, I went through security (had to go twice because my metal in shoes was detected), then on to the waiting room. There were approximately 3 other people in front of me.

About 5 past 1:00, they called my name, and a Dutch-speaking man at the first window went through the checklist to make sure I had all the necessary documents.

About 15-20 minutes later, I was called to third window. My interviewer was a really nice lady with a Wonder Woman lanyard. I complimented it and she was was awesome and complimented my shirt. Looking at my passport photos she told me I was too photogenic." {Great, my fiancé is going to run off with his visa interviewer! LOL!}
