Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

At 11 AM, I had to drop off the documents and come back at 1 PM for the interview. They will not let you in before the scheduled times, which was fine and I also knew that.
So when it says that you have your interview at 1 PM, I expected to have my interview at 1 PM. This is not what happened... Around 10-15 people show up at a 1 PM appointment and your name gets called whenever.. They did not start any interviews until 1.30.. Only 2 interview windows open so my 1 PM interview time ended up in being interviewed at 2.30 PM and took about 5 minutes (which I did expect). You can hear all the interviews from other people so do not expect any privacy.

I was pretty well aware about the whole 'window' set up, but them not starting any interview until 1.30 and everybody showing up at the same time was not something that I expected. Waiting 1,5 hours was a big surprise.. So make sure that you do not plan anything else that day because it will take about all day.

Review Topic: K1 Visa

Everything at the consulate went very smoothly. My appointment was at 1 in the afternoon, so 2 hours in advance i had to drop of some paperwork. I came back at 1 for my interview, and sat down for about an hour and a half untill i got called up to the window. The interview itself was short, a couple of questions about my relationship and i was approved. The lady behind the counter was very friendly and professional. Be prepared to let this take up your whole day though, you'll never know how long you might be waiting for your turn.

So overal, easy to find place, clear instructions and a pretty smooth process. They're quick to reply to emails too.

Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

hello,
i just wanted to share my experience with you guys.
i had my CR1 visa interview on april 9th at the consulate in the netherlands, amsterdam.

the important thing is to go on time but dont go too early because they will not let you go inside.
after you show your passport to one of the guards through the window , you may enter the consulate.
they will control your cellphone, your bags and pockets.
bags are not allowed to go inside, your not even allowed to go inside with a bottle of water.

after going inside you will have to show the requier documents to a really nice lady and after she approved those documents you are allowed to go to the first window where you need to give the original documents and photos to the next person.

dont forgert to REGISTER, otherwise you will need to do that after you get home or after your interview.

after giving the 2nd lady all of the original doc... read complete review

Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

On January 29, 2019 I had my visa interview for an IR-1 visa in the US Consulate in Amsterdam.

I had my interview at 2 pm and arrived around 1.45. I first had to give my DS-260 to a lady that was sitting in front of the interview windows. She collected my DS-260 and passport pictures. After that I had to wait to be called to the first window. While waiting I discovered I forgot the printed pictures of me and my wife in the car that I had parked at a P+R at the Rai. I was afraid this was going to be a problem. But I had my phone with me where I had lots of pictures on. Then I got called to the first window. I had to give our marriage certificate + translation and my birth certificate. Because we are already married for more than 3 years the man in front of the window told me I would be receiving an IR-1 visa instead a CR-1 visa. Once I receive my green card it will be valid for 10 years instead of 2 years. After he checked all the papers I had to do some finger printing a... read complete review
