Interview at the US Embassy of Casablanca, Morocco. I am US citizen and was petitioner for my Moroccan spouse, consular processing.
Interview Date: February 13, 2023 (02/13/2023) at 7:30 am. We prepared a file with all necessary documents, two books thick. I think we were over prepared.
Woke up 5 am, and arrived at 6 am. We sat at the cafe until a Moroccan security guard at the US embassy of Casablanca told all people to line up and wait. I asked if I could go in as I am US spouse and petitioner for the CR-1 visa and read online that most embassies lets spouses attend for the CR-1 interview but I wasn't permitted to go inside, which I suspected. My husband went in and was first in line. Went through a scanner where they locked his phone in a cabinet with a number for retrieval. Went to a front desk with a Moroccan agent, he had his biometrics taken, then handed over his documents such as passport, birth certificate, background check (court record), and p... read complete review

I am writing this review on the behalf of my fiancé. According to him the whole experience was simple and straightforward, he met with a very nice older women who did her best to make sure he was comfortable. She asked him about 4 questions, he answered them and she told him congrats his visa was approved and took his passport. Through that I believe that from the moment you hand over your w2s and the documents they ask for they have already decided if you are approved or not.

Our interview was set for 11/28/23 at 8 am. We arrived just after 7 and there were already 5 people waiting in line, so, advise you to go early. The process was completed by 930 am, for us. (Leaving the building at 930)
After going through the normal security process and waiting to be called (by your name), you go to one desk where a person sorts your documents. Then you go to wait a while again. There are two options there, for those speaking Arabic and those speaking English. You get a very nice man if you are speaking Arabic, but my husband chose English, and you get the very stern woman officer who is a bit infamous for .... her stern demeanor. Anyway. the interview itself was around 5-10 minutes. She asked questions about where we met, what I (the petitioner) do for work, specifics about my work, and about our wedding, ie, how many people were there, what was it like.... etc. She took our evidence documents away to be reviewed by another person. TAKE PHOTOS with yo... read complete review

The initial interview was on September 19, and the consular was very nice and asked basic questions, but my husband was put under AP and given 221g because they requested original previous marriage and divorce certificates. All the paperwork was sent to the embassy via Aramex on September 26. The status on CEAC stayed refused while the date was updated weekly, and finally on October 24, the status went from refused to AP, and the visa was finally issued two days later.
