Hi!
I just wanted to post some things about my fiancés experience in Ciudad-Juarez for the consulate K-1 visa interview. I will quickly say that the taxis are expensive from the airport (about 300-400 pesos) and you do need to be careful of the taxis. Not to scare anyone with this, but just be aware of your surroundings. My fiancé said that it is dangerous there but there are a lot of police/security everywhere so that is both reassuring and alarming. It wasn't very busy this week when he was there (flew in on Monday April 6th 2015 and flew out on Thursday), there were no people on the streets after dark and not many throughout the day. The location seemed very quiet and not very long wait times. He decided to walk around and find the locations of all the places he needed to visit so he wasn’t stressing about it immediately before appointments. He mostly ate at the hotel restaurant (he stayed at IBIS-details coming) or at a restaurant in the plaza across the street f... read complete review

My fiance lives in Guadalajara and did his biometrics there the week prior to his interview in Juarez. He scheduled his medical appointment at Clinica Medica Internacional and everything went seemlessly there. He picked up his packet about 2 PM. His interview was early the following morning. There's some waiting involved but as for the actual interview he said they didn't ask him anything at all. He was out in about 2 hours. The interview was on a Tuesday and he had his visa in hand by Friday of that same week.

He was not at all impressed with the city although there are lots of restaurants and stores. Everything in the vicinity of the consulate seems safe and he felt comfortable walking around there. There was a shuttle bus to one of the medical clinics and the driver picked him up telling him where he was going was the same place but it wasn't so he had to walk back. When he checked in they told them that happens a lot -they try to "steal patients" to get mo... read complete review

Ahhh Where to start...
I want to make this review kinda long because I really want to explain everything from the hotel to the consulate and in between.

JUAREZ:
It is nothing like it was described! I was super worried and was positive I was going to do nothing more than hide in the hotel room.As far as walking along the street from the consulate to the hotel ( maybe a mile ) several times We never once encountered a problem. We only went out in the day though. There's tons of shops and places to eat, even for us white girls,LOL.AppleBees,Dennys,Wendys,Mcdonalds,Dominos etc.I would only exchange some dollars for pesos but not all you have because some places it's better to use pesos and some places it's better to use dollars. The "tipo de cambio" the exchange rate varies from place to place in Juarez.Anywhere from $1=13 pesos - $1=16 pesos. As far as Taxi's,they tell you never to take a street taxi and I would stick to that, but we took a taxi from Walmart,Wendys... read complete review

We had our consulate interview today and my husband was approved!

HOTEL:
We stayed at La Quinta Inn & Suites in a two-bedroom king suite. Just fyi this is not a two-bedroom suite, it's a one bedroom suite haha...all was well. This hotel is great! Little noise, very very clean and the staff is extremely helpful, polite and professional. I highly recommend this hotel. It's not far from the consulate & clinics but its not walking distance either. They have a shuttle that can take you anywhere nearby from 6am to 9:30pm which is helpful as well as a business center where you can print your flight stuff, a gym, laundryroom, free breakfast everyday from 6am to 10am.

CLINIC:
We went to the Clinica Medica Internacional. Everything was organized and easy to do there. We arrived at 5:45am and spent about 2 hours there. We then went back at 2pm to pick up my husband's results (same-day). He received 2 shots and in total and it was $306 in total. You are... read complete review
