We were so nervous before going, but our experience in Juarez was great!
I flew into El Paso Airport and we both arrived at Juarez on Thursday evening. I hired Geno from EPShuttle to transport me across the border, and Geno was super friendly and made the process super easy and fast. He charged me $90 there and $75 on the way back. We stayed at an AirBnb because we wanted to be able to cook our own food and have a bit more privacy than a hotel would provide. We loved our experience at the AirBnb and felt completely safe the entire time we were there. It was an easy 3 minute uber ride or 15 minute walk to the consulate and Plaza. https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/29831610?guests=1&adults=1

My husband was given a 221g which did not say why our application was being refused. We left there not knowing what just happened. So he needed further investigation but we didn't know what or why.

So my husband had his interview on Tuesday 2/26/19.
Monday he had his medical at 9am everything was going fine until they looked at his tattoo and the lady was rude and was looking over his tattoos with a magnifying glass and saw one of his tattoos that said Mexican pride and asked why he covered it but he covered that years ago before we even thought of going through this process because the tattoo was in ugly letters and fading but she could see it with a magnifying glass. He told her why and she went on to finish the exam. He had to see a psychologist because of his tattoos and she asked for his criminal records which he didn't have because it doesn't say he has to take them. She let him go back to the room to retrieve them. She asked for his waivers because he has a charge for burglary and he told her that he doesn't have his waivers yet because the lawyer told us that he has to get denied at the interview before he can file the waivers and she said no your doing... read complete review

We arrived in Juarez on March 14 and stayed through Tuesday, March 19. We ended up having to stay 5 nights total because, with the interview on a Tuesday and the timing of other appointments, our first appointment was Friday morning. My wife and I stayed in the Mesaluna hotel; like many of the hotels in the area, it's nice, affordable, and conveniently located relative to the consulate and anywhere else you have a visa-related interview.
Friday, March 15 - Medical Exam: My wife's medical exam with ClÃnica Médica Internacional was at 9:15am and we arrived at around 8:45am. I wasn't allowed to pass with my wife and was asked to wait in the general waiting area. My wife had to present her passport, our interview letter from the consulate, and her appointment confirmation for the medical exam. She was then taken to a counter where they registered her, took her picture, and scanned her fingerprints, she then went on to do an eye exam. After the eye exam, she was transf... read complete review

I arrived to the consulate at 08:00 am (my appointment was at 09:15 am).
Waited in line outside in the street for about 15 min as the line was already moving to then wait under the outside roof of the building, then you go trough security inspection. DO NOT BRING CELLPHONES, ETC WITH YOU. I can't count how many people I saw being turned down and had to do the line again because they brought their phone or other prohibited objects. There is really ZERO excuse to bring those, from the outside all security guards are telling people what they can not bring... Really people, is not that difficult to follow instructions.
After this you go inside to a waiting space with the famous green and black chairs. I heard a security guard explaining to another applicant that they meant nothing, is just depending on what first window you get assigned that they put your file in a desk so the CO doesnt have to walk around the whole building to get it for the interview. That's... read complete review
