I am the petitioner from the USA. I accompanied my fiancee' to the embassy in KL, Malaysia for the interview day. We arrived about 45 minutes early to deliver our paperwork in the morning and the very nice guard outside greeted us and directed us to the window. The man behind the window gave my fiancee a badge and allowed her to enter immediately even though we were quite early. I sat outside in a shady area and talked with people -- most of whom were nervous. My fiancee waited inside in the air conditioned area until someone called for her. They examined her paperwork and said there might be a problem because my old divorce decree from the USA did not have an embossed stamp showing it was "certified." I thought I had sent the correct one -- I was wrong. After about 45 minutes, she came out and we went back to the hotel to wait till it was time to go back for the 1:30 PM interview. We stayed at the Istana Hotel which is about a 5 or 10 minute taxi ride. I know there is at leas... read complete review

(This write up is from the USC spouse, not the beneficiary)
We got to the US Embassy at around 8:25 am, and there was no waiting line. Because I needed to be there for a separate passport service for US Citizens, I was able to go in and wait with my husband (the beneficiary) in the waiting room.
Per the instructions in your letter from the medical center, take a B number. You will go into a waiting room, and in the case of my husband, who had the first B number available, he was called in for his initial document submission at around 9:45 am.
DOCUMENT SUBMISSION For IR1/CR1
He was asked to produce his ds-260 confirmation page, 2 photographs (note, make sure you use the US-sizing requirements, not Malaysian or another size), and his receipt for the option to pick up his documents later (go to the state.gov website to register an account and choose a document return option: this is how they will return your passport and visa to you. It... read complete review

My K-1 interview was scheduled last month at the US Embassy in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. I went there early at 9am for document submissions and I was attended by a middle aged lady. As I was handing in my documents, she kept asking for unnecessary things not directly pertaining to the documents at hand. At first she asked for an original copy of the DS-160 confirmation page.I mentioned the 'original' was a printed version which I have submitted in the previous packet as well as the one I brought with me. Then she was mumbling to herself how much it was hard to scan the barcode on a printed copy. Second part, she asked for the Xray film of my medical checkup. I politely told her that I do not have the Xray film as the GP at the panel clinic told me to only bring along the white sealed envelope to the interview and that everything will be enclosed in there. She rudely asked me "Then how are we even supposed to see the xray" I handed her over the letter containing the instructions the panel... read complete review

I had my interview on September 11, 2014 and was approved. The process in Malaysia is pretty straight-forward and simple. My letter said I should be there by 9.00 am to submit the documents. I was there at sharp 9. There are 2 queues, one to take a visitor's pass (the lane on the left) and one to go into the embassy building. Both queues were short. Two people ahead of me in the first queue to take the pass and about 10 people ahead of me to get into the building. You will need to have your IC and interview letter (the one with your name and date and time of the interview) with you to pass to the guard.
Once you get through the 2nd queue, you get checked, scanned and your belongings put through the scanning machine. You need to remove shoes as well. You will receive a tag for your belongings which are to be collected on your way out.
I was sitting in the waiting room by 9.30 a. You take the number B. Make sure you tell the guard that you are there for IMM... read complete review

I have the same officer who denied my B2 visa last year to interview me, what can I share here, is... You just have to be yourself, tell the truth. They are nice people, and is their duty to make sure all the visitors or immigrant visa applicant are genuine.
Few questions the officer asked:
1) How you meet him? (The Petitioner)
2) When is the last time you met him? (The Petitioner)
3) Already 2 and half year you didn't see him? (My answer: Yes, I supposed to meet him last year but my B2 visa rejected)
4) Why he don't come and visit you again? (My answer: He asked me file the K1 last year few months after B2 visa rejected)
5) Do you know what he work as? (Officer asked twice about his job)
6) Why your name changed? (My answer: Because of religion)
7) Religion? You from what religion, and now? (I found is quite offensive as for me this is my privacy... I show him my bad face still, I ... read complete review
