Was told they were Much nicer than when we were denied K1/K2 Visas in 2018. put on "Administrative Processing" needed to UPLOAD not E-mail forms that were previously in the packets. They only answered our lawyers emails not ours.

My interview was at 8:00 AM, they let me in about 15 min before that. You have to leave your purse at the security and leave anything that is electronic (phone, USBs, CDs, etc.) Also, you can't bring backpacks and laptops.
First, a local lady asked for a list of documents and she also asked questions like "were you married before?". Then I sat back down and was called about 30 min later by a Consul. He was quite nice. I was asked a lot of questions, mainly about my relationship with my fiance. All in all, the interview was about 10-15 min long. In the end, he said my visa was approved and wished me good luck :-)

We had a pretty bad experience at the Consulate. Despite being told that I (US citizen) could attend the interview with my husband (Kazakhstani citizen), they wouldn't let me in at the door. They promised that the consular officers would speak Russian with my husband (his English isn't great), so I shouldn't worry. In fact, the consular officer refused to speak Russian to him even when he asked, so he was forced to speak only English. Naturally, this made him really nervous and he confused a few dates during the interview.
We received a 221(g) refusal because we were missing one document. Not a big deal, but the consular officer was so rude to him about the whole ordeal. I was shocked because other reviews here say that the Consulate is very friendly to immediate relatives. I guess that's only true if they speak fluent English.
