Review Topic: K1 Visa

Arrived at 9 am and waited 20 min to submit all the papers. Then they called us to make sure the financial documents were all filled in. Then after 1 hour they called us again to get finger prints then we sat and wited for another hour. Around 11:30 am the officer called for the interview. THEY DO NOT PROVIDE TRANSLATORS, only speak English or Japanese. Easy question, how we met, has he met my parents, where are we going to live and when is the wedding and our current jobs. He was very nice smiled and said congratulation you will receive your visa in 5 days.

The embassy interview process took about 3.5 hours. Arrived at 8:00 a.m., and there was already over a dozen people waiting. The staff was very polite and nice. javascript:emoticon('') The interview took place through a glass wall with a small opening in it. It made it hard to hear a couple of the questions, especially since the area was full of people.

The interview questions were very simple; How did you meet? Where did you first meet? Has the USC ever been to Japan to visit your parents? Have you been to the USA to visit your fiance? Have you met the USC's parents? What does the USC do for a living? Where and when do you plan on marrying?

At the end of the questioning, the interviewer said, "Congratulations! You will be getting the visa within a week!" javascript:emoticon('')
